If we could get a 2nd and 3rd it would be a good return. Similar to what we got for glencross.

Huds is a step up from GlenX, methinks. I wouldn't be shocked if he got 2 2nds or a 1st.

I think hudler gets more than a second. Just a feeling but I would be a little disappointed if all he returned was a 2nd

I believe in the Pony Power
|
I think what hurts Hudler is he isn't fast and he isn't big. Teams are looking to add guys to take on certain teams that have those advantages. Hudler can give you some offensive production, but the fact that he's under-sized and slowing down makes him a secondary choice for teams. I think his value is about a 2nd and no more.

Same here but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I always like when there's at least one name attached as well as it gives you someone to research/watch the rest of the year.
As good of value as the Glencross deal was it didn't create much interesting discussions. I'd like a Roland Mckeown type guy added with the 2nd.

Ya that's my thinking too. I wouldn't be surprised at an underwhelming return for Hudler, I don't see the phones ringing off the hook for Huds..

Is there anyone other than Florida that's rumoured for Hudler?

I think people are forgetting that Hudler had 76 points last season but I guess it is a case of "what have you done for me lately" . I would be inclined to resigning Hudler if he can only fetch a 2nd round pick.

Some offensive production?
He is 24th in the league in points over the last 2 seasons.
24th.
That puts him ahead of names like Toews, Bergeron, Zetterberg, Spezza...
and every member of the Oilers (among other teams)

I suppose you could look at the way Hudler compliments younger linemates in the same way as Gaudreau and Monahan, and for a team with similar assets he could be an attractive option worth giving up a 2nd +

Red Wings and Avs both need D.
I'm making a bold prediction one of them makes a surprise trade for Russell.

From Friedman
Would expect clarity on Nilsson in am. Discussions with STL were for a mid-round draft pick.
Last chance for Hiller might be SJ who was rumoured to be interested in summer. Hiller at 50% retained for Stalock and pick?
Pagnotta reporting deal agreed to.

Maybe I am out to lunch on this one but I never thought I would hear the words "Purcell" and "bidding war" put together in a sentence.

The teams that would want Hudler are all top of the standings.
People really think a late 2nd is what a guy like Hudler is worth?
If I was a Wash or Dallas fan and saw Hudler moves to another team for a 2nd I would be furious at my GM.

And how much will he score not playing with Johnny Hockey and Monahan? It's not a sure thing he can keep that pace up with 2nd liners on a different team.

Hudler has been in or around 50 points just about all of his career. He is on pace for that this season. The exception was last season where he was close to a PPG.
I think any GM trading for him is expecting 50 point Hudler. Not point per game Hudler.

Pretty safe to say most GMs would love a $4M 50pt+ experienced RW for the stretch and playoffs. The "win now" teams. Hudler has value even as a rental.
