Ha ha ha that was pretty nuts. I was expecting on that last point another challenge as she kept putting those serves in the exact same spot.

TSN is showing Shapovalov now if you've never seen him play.

I'm impressed how she was about to go full teenage meltdown after the second challenge then reigned it in almost instantly.

After Wimbledon tennis continues.

With many players in Davis Cup this week or just taking a break, it's a good opportunity or lesser players to make points in two 250 level events. The highest ranked player playing this week is #22 Kohlscheiber

Vasek is now one of those lesser players because he is ranked #99 this week. He's the 5th seed in the Newport 250 on the grass.

Diez has qualified for the Hamburg 250 on clay.

Dancevic is trying to qualify for Newport (needs to win 1 more match)

That's the thing many people are not realizing/talking about. Tennis is being absolutely dominated by 2 players the last 18 months or so. No one else is even close to the level Murray and Djokovic are at and Milos has quietly put together the third/fourth best season on tour thus far.

Raonic has nothing to hang his head about in the final imho. He got out maneuvered by the best returner/defender in the world - a guy that has been at it 4-5 years longer than he has. The fact he has even been able put himself into the second tier below these guys is incredibly encouraging as he enters the prime of his career.

I start to question a player that consistently has this many health issues. He's either not putting in the work necessary to stay healthy or he needs to change what he's doing entirely. Either way, its a poor excuse for the fact that he's simply been playing awful tennis for almost a year now and reflective in the fact that he's essentially out of the top 100 tour players and now struggling to stay even remotely relevant on tour.

When you hold him up against the arc that Milos has followed, you have to wonder what has gone so wrong for a player that was at one point considered to be a similar talent.

Roger was more dominant last year, Andy more dominant this year. It's still really hard to win a major when you have to beat 2 of those 3 guys. If not for Sam Quarray, Milos would have had to beat all three which would have been a monumental accomplishment. Wawrinka having won both his beating #1 and #2 (Nadal/Djokovic and then Djokovic/Federer) makes his major wins some of the best in recent history.

Genie may pull out of the Olympics:

She's says she is excited for the Rogers Cup though. It's in Montreal this year for the women. She probably wants the monkey off her back after what happened last time in Montreal.

This strikes me as a major red flag as far as her psyche at the current moment. She honestly seems like she is still lacking a ton of confidence on and off the court considering she has no real reason for potentially pulling out of a major international tournament at the last minute.

Someone like her should be itching to represent her country after a couple of rough seasons on tour. Very little tour/sponsor related implications at an event like this - go have some fun playing on the world stage.

Makes you wonder (a little bit) if there's a PED reason, too (kind of like with the golfers).

That story was debunked by Genie a few weeks ago.

The media blew it out of proportion to make it sound like an eating disorder when she was actually just saying she was having trouble keeping food down before matches or something to that effect.
