Tim Erixon has 3 goals and 6 assists in 19 games with Skelleftea AIK, but has 1G and 6A in the last 10 games or so, so he's picked up the offense quite a bit since the beginning of the year. Should be exciting to watch him at the World Juniors.

I'm not a huge fan of Playfair scratching one of our top propsects, but I can't really comment on it

Irving's stats are pretty good to start the year. (8-3-0, 2.36 GAA, .908 SV%)
Can any of our more frequent watches of him elaborate on how he's been playing?

With the exception of the Heat's home opener he hasn't let in any truly bad goals since.

In all of the shootouts he's been in he's been very solid.

He makes big saves when it matters.

Just this last weekend, he only let the Houston Aeros score four goals and only let in 1 of 10 shootout goals.

I have a feeling that Keetley will get sent down to the ECHL soon if Irving and Lamaroux keep playing the way they are.

Is he actually doing that poorly?

Wahl's got 5 points and is -3 over 13 games.

Nemisz, Bancks, Patterson, Keith, Cunning, Bouma and Rheault all have as many or more points than him.

His -3 ties him with Bryan Cameron for worst on the team.

Yikes.

I'm surprised he just wasn't relegated to 4th line duties though. Those wouldn't be terrible results when 7/18 outscore you and you're playing 8-10 minutes a night.

Good article on Aaron Marvin. Been pretty good the last two weekends with 4 goals and 2 assists. It'll be interesting to see if he has a future with the flames after this season.

Howse had an assist today, his goal scoring has dried up as of late.

Ferland had a goal.

There's a name that's often overlooked. Wondering if he'll join the Heat next year

Wahl scratched again, FFS.
The Heat are winning 4-1 though, so I guess you can't argue with the results!

Are we sure he's being sat? or could it be that he's hurt?

Are we sure Wahl is a healthy scratch?

Who are Carroll and Laing?

Carrol has played 4 games with the Heat and has one goal.

Laing has played 1 game with the Heat and has one goal and one assist.

Yeah, I was wondering if we are entirely sure that Wahl is a healthy scratch or if he might be injured?

Andrew Carroll and Quintin Laing were each signed on a PTO. Likely to get more experience in the lineup as the Heat are the youngest team in the AHL.

Laing is a vet (31 years old) who played the last two seasons with the Washington Capitals. (2 years ago he was sent down in the playoffs and won the Calder with Hershey)

Last year was a tough one... he decided to stop a slap shot with his face http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA1pcSYWzDo.

The year before that he lacerated his spleen after a return to the club after he got H1N1.

The guy is a trooper. Flat out. Hard working guy. Will NOT put points on the board (despite the 2 he has.. it isn't his normal role) but is often first out on the PK... on the ice in the last minute. He just bangs bodies and blocks shots.

Heat playing well or is the AHL webiste screwed up. They are outshooting the Phantoms 27-5 and the Phantaoms had 3 shots in the 1st, 1 in the second and 1 in the third so far but scored 1 goal in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd, thus on their only shots in each period = a goal???

The Heat are on some kinda hot streak.
-Their 4-2 win tonight over Adirondack puts them 11-6-0-1 in the AHL's West Division.
-Leland Irving is 10-3-0 with a 2.31 goals against average.
-Greg Nemisz has 11 points in 18 games
-Gord Baldwin is an awesome +7 in 18 games
-T.J. Brodie has 7 points and is +6 in 13 games since being sent down.

Some kinda team.
