The more this show focuses on Morgan the worse it gets. I haven't liked the character since Day 1 - but he was always somewhat secondary to the main plot lines.
I thought Morgan was a little annoying in the 2nd episode, but he was in my mind the MVP of the 3rd and 4th season. I have faith the show will finish strong
I hope it does too, but the Morgan thing and the eviceration of Jeffster is killing it for me. Basically last week they stated that we had seen the end of the Jeffster music.
And now we have the apparent love interest between Casey and Carrie Ann Moss which can't end well.
So lets all rise and raise our glasses to one last show by Jeffster

Captain
Don't worry about the end of Jeffster, they will be coming back. An interview with Fedak/Schwartz talked about them just not wanting to over due it with performances. Not time to say goodbye just yet
I'm starting to think that they should have ended this show last year with Sarah dying in a coma and Chuck blowing his own head off.
That was the worst episode of the show not just so far but in the whole run of the show.
Spoiler!
They maybe had a chance to make Morgan a major villain where it wasn't the intersect screwing up his head, but his own feelings of resentment over being the third wheel over the last few years, but nooooo they chuck the Morgan villain thing out, and not only that but they do it with the typical "Please remember who you were" crap.
The Casey Gertrude thing is so forced.
They basically straightened out Lester and cleaned him up.
And Sarah has basically become a background character who's only there because she looks good.
The show has to me
And we can now look forward to this
There's nothing intriguing in this season so far, and whenever they've stumbled onto something they've absolutely wrecked it.
They used to have epic villain concepts first they had Fulcrum, which was a splinter group of disgruntled CIA operatives, so the fulcrum is gutted fine, then we find out that the Ring is one part of a larger group named The Ring , and they suddenly destroy the ring with zero fan fare, and arrest the elders without a freaking fight.
So then we move onto Volkov (sp?) they limp along with that one emasculate the villian and end that.
Now we're back to the lame rogue element in the CIA.
While the show has some cute and clever comedy which basically died two years ago, they've done a horrible job of doing anything menacing with the villians. Instead all of the villians have been keystone copish, and the stuff tonight with snuffing out the Morgan threat in one episode is unforgivable tonight.
Just terrible writing and lazy plots over the last two years, and while Morgan was annoying, Chuck has moved completely into the please eat a bullet or something area for me.

I'm almost at the level of "pissed off" that Captain Crunch is.
Watching the first 3 seasons in like a week was awesome, became my favorite show.
Now it's hard to watch the show. The writing really isn't that good and they don't do anything exciting anymore.
A reason for the awfulness may come down to its budget to though (that's why its so damn boring), they had a proper budget (I assume) in season 2 (the best season), seems like they have a combined $50,000 for the past 2 seasons.
Season 2 when Chuck had a full budget, is when it was at it's best. It's sooo clear from the quality, to amount of time the supporting cast gets and everything else. Take into account the show has had to write nearly 5 series finales and I'm willing to still give it a pass. It's lost so many writers who needed more of a sure thing and had to cut costs everywhere. I'm not knocking those saying the quality of the show this season is weak and saying it's been strong, but It will not change how I remember this show.
I guess we're in the minority, but Mrs. Fatso and I are really enjoying Season 5 thus far (though I thought the premiere was a bit weak). We are Morgan fans, so we're glad to see him getting screen time. I've also enjoyed the way the show is focussing on the characters' relationships which, no doubt, is largely due to its shoestring budget.
Seasons 1 and 2 are the best, followed closely by season 3. I thought season 4 stalled a bit, largely because I found the Volkoff/Chuck's mom plotlines rather dull. I'm excited to see how it will end, though I'll miss as I have found it to be a lot of fun.

Well thats what happens when they are given 13 episodes to work with and than given additional 11 or so, oh wait, that was the case for pretty much every other season.. But yea Volkoff was defs the weakest and dullest villain/storyline of Chuck
i gave up on Chuck last season when it became too much of a relationship soap opera (the chuck/sarah wedding stuff killed it for me). checking this thread to see if i missed anything worthwhile and it appears i made the correct decision. Morgan with an intersect? bleh
Good episode last night - certainly took a darker turn when Casey killed all those folks.

Finally got around to the latest Chuck epsisode, and while I still find the whole Chuck, Sarah thing to be a bit lame, Casey really stepped up his game tonight. The whole Phantom Menace thing was hilarious, and then the touching giving Morgan the Three Indiana Jones movie in the end was a nice touch.
We finally saw bad a%% Casey return as he coldly gunned down Viper and her posse. Lester getting arrested after trying to gas Jeff was hilarious as was the consequences speech.
Nice touch showing the world that Furrys are freaks.
Overall it was a good episode leading into the fall hiatus, Morgan is still too annoying, and Casey's daughter looks too much like Sarah not to be creepy.

Haven't seen the latest episode since I decided to watch Prison Break and couldn't help notice the similarities between the two shows.
-Dad's that left but worked for the "Company/Orion" then against them
-Mom's that were dead but come back alive still working for the enemy
-2 brothers and brother sister protecting each other
-Sarahs are the love interest for Scoefield and Chuck
-Sucre and Morgan playing the not so smart friend, but following the directions
-Take down these companies that want to control it all
Seems like Chuck was just ripping off the storylines.

I thought it was strong, reminds me a lot of when the show hit it's stride in S3 with that great Casey backstory storyline.
Finally a really episode of Chuck. This season has been mediocre, but the last episode was pretty good. The previews have me excited, but it is sort of getting ridiculous bringing every character back.
The Community stuff was awesome too, I knew Abed was in the episode, but Yvette was a hilarious addition.
