More news, Manchester City have sold Robinho to AC Milan on a permanent deal. No word on for how much, but at this point I think they just wanted him gone.
AC Milan is looking pretty good now though, potential strike partnership of Ibrahimovic and Robinho? On paper it looks good, but realistically AC have just bought two players who their selling clubs hated and wanted to get rid of, in addition to a recently underwhelming Ronaldinho.
They've got a full house of headcases if you ask me....

Sunderland just completed the signing of Ghana's Asamoah Gyan from Rennes, needless to say I'm pretty excited about it.. Thought he looked great in South Africa (minus the extra time penalty miss) and looking forward to seeing him alongside Benty!

Yeah, looks like no Carlton Cole for Liverpool and they keep Babel. Honestly, I'm thinking thats a great deal. Roy doesnt need to help Spurs, and I see Babel as having more potential than Cole.
Besides, we got Paul Konchesky!!

Honestly from South Africa I dont think I can recall him scoring a single goal from open play. So, if you're anticipating earning a lot of penalties, he will score....most...of them.

Ditto. I consistently criticized Rafa for misusing him. When Liverpool acquired him he was a first team Dutch international. I think theres potential there.

Theres still 4 minutes left. But, you know that what you have there is a 'London Screw Job.' Fulham wasnt letting Schwarzer go to Arsenal for a reason.

Yeah he scored 2 penalties and one goal from open play, your point is..that doesn't say anything about whether he played well or not. he looked lively the whole tournament and was always a danger to the opposition.. definitely an upgrade on Jones, although a different type of striker, and I know me and thousands of other SAFC fans are pretty stoked about this signing!

Fair enough, I wasnt impressed in SA, but I never watched him play for his club. Could be totally different.
Also, a good laugh at ol' 'Arry, trying to sign none other than Rafael Van Der Vaart from Real Madrid in less than 4 minutes. You're a 'Wheeler Dealer 'Arry!!'

I like Pletikosa a lot as cover for Gomes because Cudicini is terrible
AC Milan are stacked up front now, Pato and Ibra up top with Robinho and Ronaldhino on either side is probly the best attacking front 4 in europe outside of Chelsea/Barca
I think Sunderland had the best day so far, Gyan isn't amazing but pair him with Bent and I see no reason why they aren't a top 10 team and in the race for a Europa spot

Yeah Pletikosa is a really good keeper from what I've seen so if Gomes goes back to his 'goofy' form it'll be nice having him to step in. Surprised spurs apparently haven't done anything else though.

Arsenal not getting a keeper shocks me even more than Spurs doing nothing
Almunia is going to cost them multiple points this season

I for one am highly skeptical. VDV is one of the world's premier midfielders, him for 11M Euro is a joke, and only happens because Real deem him surplus to requirements. Further, 'Arry's on the Sherry if he thought he could land him inside of 4 minutes.
Note, no talk of Fabiano at all, I suppose that deal died a few days ago.

Spanish publication Marca, who tend to have their finger firmly on the pulse of all things Real Madrid, are reporting that Tottenham have indeed signed Rafael Van der Vaart. And STILL the Spurs media team are unreachable. Have Harry Redknapp and Daniel Levy really pulled a rabbit out of the hat at the death?

I'd be impressed. That would be a great signing. Too bad it doesnt identify the horrendous defensive situation. But VDV will pot a few to help out the strikers.
