Americans have been very average in their 4 games but because of some puck luck and timely no calls they get to finish in the top 4.

Man international hockey is frustrating to follow.

That statement sounds a lot like the canucks (though they get the timely calls, not no calls).

I'm glad the states won. I hope team canada's path crosses the americans once again in order to attain gold.

Look at the celebration for clawing onto a win for dear life against the Swiss.

So, the US now gets the winner of Czech v. Finland? Okay, they faced some "adversity" in this game, but I am still not impressed. I think they could be done.

As methanolic said, Ryan Miller has been the best goalie thus far in the tournament. He deserves a ton of credit.

Czech hasn't looked great either though. They had to get to OT to beat the worst team in the tournament yesterday. Also in Finland's last game they got beat by the only real good team they played in the round robin.

It took us until the shootout to beat Switzerland. I don't want the US team to succeed either but anything can happen on any given day. They have every reason to celebrate. They are in the final 4 and have a good chance at getting to the finals.

I highly doubt the US gets to the finals.

They struggled with Switzerland twice. Even Norway was still in the game with them in the third period. They needed Miller standing on his head, terrible officiating, and Broduer leaking like a sieve to barely squeek by Canada.

I wouldn't say the US struggled with Switzerland. They dominated but just couldn't score until later...

Thanks to Ryan Miller. He is been by far the best player in the tourney up until this point.

Well, I just got back from the first game today and it was clearly a case of men against boys. However, with a lot of help from their goaltender, the boys kept it pretty even up till the empty netter. A very exciting game to watch.

(Amazing what can happen when you goaltender doesn't make 2-3 unforced errors in a game.)

Oh well, off to the important game. Here's hoping that Luongo and Morrow play the game of their lives.
