Little bump for this thread. I'm not a denim fanatic in any respect, I don't really care about brands, only a good fit, and I got a great fit this weekend.
Couple weeks ago groupon had a coupon for $39 for $100 worth of jeans at Espy in Inglewood.
Went down this weekend and wow, what a fantastic shop. In and out in 15 minutes and I didn't even have to search for anything. They do it all for you. Tell them what you want and they pick a few different styles off the shelf, get you to a change room and they stare at your ass and tell you if you look good in the jeans or not.
Super friendly people and I got probably the best pair of jeans I've ever had.

I have got one pair of raw denim Naked Famous jeans that I purchased at a substantial mark-down. For those too poor or thrify, Levi's 501's, baby. Lots of style for only $50.

I'd really like to get a pair of rock revival jeans;however, the wife figures I should lose some flubber first....so until then I'll suffer in my lucky brand jeans.

I'm also a denim whore.
~10 pairs of 7's
a few pairs of RnR and DG
~3 pairs of nudies, 2 of which i have yet to wash and have had for 5 years, mostly worn around the house. Very excited to see how they turn out.
I actually hate diesel denim. I find it is way too thick maybe it just the style I tried.

I'm a big fan of 7's, they seem to fit me better than most. I'm currently running about 4 pairs of them.
Just picked up a pair of Paige Premium's as well. Really like the cut on them, and they're comfy as hell. I'm about 6' 190lbs, and they fit my slim arse well. I think I need to do legs more often in the gym.
Diesels do well as work jeans. I work light industrial, so I can still wear a golf shirt with them, and still feel kinda stylish. And by stylish I mean more so than the rest of the people around me rocking 501's.

I used to get cheap jeans in University, but when I got a job that paid well, I started getting into the boutique shop jeans, as well as Henry and Harry Rosen and stuff. Good jeans, just a bit pricey. Have since moved back to jeans from the Source or Mission, and Volcom seems to fit me nicely with a bit of street attitude haha . . . So I came full circle. Volcom is a great brand by the way.

Anyone into Japanese denim? They make a better quality compared to most American high-end labels. Built more in the style of workwear than fashion in terms of quality and cuts.

My first pair of raw's was Nudie. I found not much durability there. They disintegrated before getting substantial wear.
Diesel will be totally different in thickness depending on what style/cut you get.
My current jean fixation is APC. Love the cut. About $180/pair but worth it for me as I will essentially wear them just about everyday for 1.5-2 years.

I just got back from NYC and got a pair of Uniqlo selvege denim jeans for only $50. Not too sure if it's raw denim or not, but still pretty cheap for a pair of everyday jeans.

Picked up a pair of APC in the UK this year. Here's a comparison between the brand new ones and a pair i wore for about a year back in 2009.

Nice work.
Yeah I also have an old pair and a new pair. THe old pair has a serious crotch blowout and has gotten really tight since I started doing my 20 squat workout program.
Went with Rescue model this time and sized up. Prety happy so far. A baggier look but pretty good cut overall.

APC is a really good way to ease your way into really high qaulity raw denim. Japanese label are really expensive but I've found them to be worth it. The fade you get is incomparable as well. Take a look at labels like Pure Blue Japa and Samurai. Generally around 15-20 oz. denim and unsanforized. Nice fading on those APCs too. I have a pair of New Standards that turned out really nice.

That's a good price for selvege. I've heard Uniqlo is a pretty good quality for what you pay.
