Well, after seeing this thread, looks like I may be making a quick trip to go buy an antenna! I was always under the impression that OTA HDTV wasn't available in Calgary.
Does the coverage happen to reach in the downtown area?
After buying and returning a brand name antenna and then making my own, I highly recommend building it yourself. Shaw worked their dark magic and I removed my antenna a month ago. But I'll put it back up when their offer ends. This is the antenna I made:
I'm in the far NE of Calgary and the only channel that gives me issues is Global.

Do any of you know if something has changed in the past, say, ~90 days? Nothing on my end is different, but I can only get Global (Ch. 2.1) on seemingly random chance, when in the past I could get strong Global (2.1), CTV (4.1), CITY (5.1), CBC (9.1) and 32.1 and 38.1 reception.
Unfortunately I only have one TV to test my UHF antenna on. I don't know if that's on the fritz, or what might be going on. Never had any troubles since about 2009.

I tried to grab OTA signals last Thursday and didn't have much luck. However that was with a different TV than I usually use, so I gave up pretty quick.

Hmmm. Don't think it's the weather, as this was happening back when it was 20-degrees.
I think I'll go pick up a new antenna today to try and rule out if that's the issue. If it's my TV, well, I could use a new [*cough*80-inch*cough*] one of those . . .
I had a similar issue a few months back with my Terk indoor antenna. In the end I bought a new one and everything worked fine again instantly. As I was taking apart the old antenna I noticed where the antenna part slotted into the base, it didn't seem seated in there as well as it should have been. Because I had already bought a new one and already pulled everything apart and installed the new one, I didn't try putting it back together to see if that was the issue. Maybe make good and sure everything is connected properly?
