Yeah, its at 1040 - 8th Street SW. Just across the street from Mountain Equipment Co-op. Excellent coffee, and good baked goods and food as well!

I've read that for maximum fat burning you should avoid eating as long as possible after a workout.

I have no problem making something to eat.

^^Really? I have read the opposite, that you should try eating carbs and protein within 30 minutes or so of working out, because it helps the muscles ... or something. I don't remember the reasoning behind it.
Hmmm. Who do you listen to when it comes to this stuff? Everyone seems to say something different.

Dude, that's BAD BAD advice. Whoever told you that probably doesn't know the first thing about fitness training or nutrition. Your body is in its most receptive state for up to 90 minutes after a workout, so what you put in during that time will help determine what you get out of a workout.
I've NEVER heard someone say you should wait to eat after training. Google "post workout nutrition" and you'll see what I mean. There are certain foods to AVOID, but not cut out food altogether.

But I'm talking about a strictly cardio workout. For something like weight training I can understand needed to eat afterwards. But what I've read is that your body stays in a fat burning state after cardio until you eat. I could be wrong but it's been effective for me earlier this year.

I can't for the life of me understand how anyone likes some of these new critically acclaimed bands.
I've been checking out the CP album draft thread and the top music lists of 08 and I honestly think most of these bands are so generic and/or so terrible I can't fathom how anyone would say they are good. Bands like TV on the Radio, Modest Mouse etc are so awful I can hardly get through the youtube clips posted.

I'm pretty sure it's just protein, not carbs. Protein helps your starving muscles build, but carbs are for energy, and make more sense before working out.

LOL, I was gonna completely agree with your post, and then you listed 2 bands I like. Neither of which are new at all.
I thought you were ranting about all these new indie geek bands

I am wondering if humans are smarter today than in ancient civilizations such as the Mayans and Egyptians. They did some crazy things in those times.

Get the little blue jar of Lip Medex made by Blistex. Best stuff ever for dry lips.

I'm looking at my box of Orbit Maui Melon Mint gum that I bought in the US and it says that it's made in Canada. I'm not even sure if it is available in Canada.

Same thing. Protein and simple carbs are good after a workout (as in a protein shake and dextrose). Foods to avoid are complex carbohydrates, which you should be taking before a workout. And when I say simple carbs I don't mean chocolate bars.....
Seriously though, not eating anything at all after a workout is not a good idea. Your body needs to replenish its lost energy stores, and the quickest way to do it is to eat right after a workout.

random thought for the day:
people who say violence is never the answer are wrong.
Violence is the answer if you know how to ask the right question. For example what does v-i-o-l-e-n-c-e spell?
See violence is the answer!
