It's great that we actually have 12 tacklers on the field for both FG attempts and for punts.
Dales got hurt on that tackle. He will be playing injured next Sunday.

Nik Lewis got hurt too, dislocating a thumb on his right hand and the pinky on his left (apparently they point out in weird directions). I bet he plays on Sunday, guy's a warrior. I have gained a huge amount of respect for the way he's played the game this year and cut down (not out, but down) on his theatrics and trash talking.

Lewis said in the Herald today, he was going to retire if CGY lost to BC.

Considering the final score, I'll take a hurt Dales over him not making that tackle. If he doesn't make that tackle, there's a good chance we're all talking about losing the big game again.

Henry even had to make the "quiet down" motion with his hands a time or two. Yesterday, the cheers were there, but people knew not to make it too loud.

Was there a particular series you noticed this happening? I didn't see the TSN broadcast at all, I was in the stands and I always have that on my mind to yell like mad only when our D is on the field. And the fans were awesome at that yesterday. The 13th man ruled! Wish the Calgary Sun would have written about it.
I remember it on the drive in the 3rd quarter when the Stamps were 2nd and goal on about the BC 3. The crowd was going absolutely CRAZY, yelling "GO STAMPS GO!!!" over and over. The entire left side of our OL appeared to jump up out of sync(not early, to warrant an illegal procedure call or anything, but they all looked confused). I really wonder if it was because of the crowd noise, and they couldnt hear the snap count or something. Even the announcers mentioned how confused they seemed. When we failed to punch that in and had to settle for the FG, I was screaming at my TV for everyone to shut up. I think it was on the same play when the streaker ran on the field, so hopefully the crowd was just screaming about that, and not just ######ed.

Nevertheless, that game was probably the loudest I have EVER heard McMahon, and I was really jealous I wasn't there for it. One of the big reasons why I love the NFL is the crazy atmosphere, it just brings a whole other element to the game. Usually the CFL is lacking in that regard, but yesterday seemed very close to an NFL atmosphere, at least in terms of noise. Big props to the fans(though alot of them need to learn to SHUT THE HELL UP during our redzone offence).

You Need a Thneed - the CFL has a rule that time count violations in the final 3 mins results in the loss of a down, so that option was not available to Calgary.

I agree that they should have rushed the ball, but I think it was more of "taking a knee means ZERO turnovers, no risk at all"

if it's 3rd down its just a 10 yard penalty but the clock would be held until the snap of the ball.

I think it had more to do with the make-up of the crowd.

This is just a guess based on my experience at the game.

This city is a melting pot of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I have seen more of your 'non-traditional' football fans (not middle-aged, male, and caucasian) in the family section this year than I ever recall in any previous years.

When we were in the red zone, I noticed that the 'traditional' fans were relatively quiet, but the asian, east indian and middle eastern fans beside me were still just as loud. I think it was just a matter of experience: Not experienced enough to know the impact their noise could have.

Got to give them their props though, they were just as loud as everyone else and totally into the game, even if they were nursed on cricket and futbol. Given enough experience, they will get it. They already knew how to sneak rum(?) into the game and discretely get sauced in the family section that prohibits alcohol...so they got that going for them.

I wish the Stamps would take a lesson from a team like the Pats who actually have up on their jumbotron "Quite please, Tom is at work!"

Just use things like that to teach the newer fans when to make noise and when not to.

There was actually an announcement made at the game to keep quiet - happened as the Stamps got into the red zone.
