I wonder where these early results from Global are coming from ... showing the PCs cleaning up in the popular vote thus far.

Go to the CBC link I provided. They have a live map showing ridings that have responded so far, with a sub box where you can track certain ridings specifically. Pretty good set up coupled with the web coverage of the TV broadcast.

And to answer your quesiton: all of th results so far are from rural ridings, where the PC's own.

cbc shows the conservative dominating early on. I didn't vote seeing how I'm in winnipeg for school and didn't have the time to request a special ballot and I also didn't feel I knew enough about what each party was doing to make an informed dicision.

Good web locations, nodice.ca perhaps.

CBC has streaming video and audio of their TV and radio coverage:
http://www.cbc.ca/albertavotes2008/

And both the Liberals and WRA really wish our poll was indicative of how the real voting went.
They have a pretty cool live map site there, it updated real time while I was browsing it with results.

Interesting, looks like all of the the ridings reporting at this point are rural.

Keep in mind that this is 1% of the polls reporting ... when you look at the detailed results some of the ridings report the person leading with like 20 total votes.

No real surprises so far; conservatives cleaning up in the rurals, edmonton a really close three-way split. Not enough in Calgary to get any sort of indications.

22 minutes after polls close Global in Edmonton declared a PC majority. Thanks for coming out and good night.

News stations already declaring a PC majority. What a brutally depressing evening. A lame fish of a "leader" who most don't seem to like sweeps the night, so far, from a scorched earth party...litterally.
