I love Kevin Nealon and Justin Kirk... easily the funniest duo in a TV series, bar none.

In that sense, I agree. I did enjoy the few episodes where Dexter was trying to pursue that big Mexican gangster and just couldn't seem to get a kill. He went x number of days without being able to "feed the urge" and it was wearing on him. Perhaps the writers felt they had sufficiently explored that storyline?
I see Dexter and paralleling The Sopranos. The first couple seasons were awesome because every kill/action sequence/storyline was fresh and exciting. But then, starting in season 3-4, the writers/producers felt that they needed to get away from that and focus more on the inner turmoil that the main character (Dexter and Tony) has. This means less of what made the first two seasons great and more deep exploration of issues and slower moving story-lines.
One thing Dexter, the series, hasn't done yet is a major cliff-hanger. I'm not a fan, but I'm almost expecting it this year.

blankall, thanks for saying what I was trying to say much better than I did. Dexter's whole shtick is that he's a psycho and has no feelings and is trying to cope with the monster within.... it seems to me all that is his way of coping with the monotony and dullness and awkwardness of being alive. As you point out, for a guy who claims to have no feelings, he sure does spend a lot of time worrying about others and what they may think of him...
as an aside, I've totally cut Weeds loose. I love Kevin Nealon, but I thought season 4 was awful and not in a good way. Lucky for me, Curb your Enthusiasm (the best comedy on TV) re-starts in the fall.... can't wait!

that's what i love about this show, each season is it's own contained storyline. i don't see them changing that, as i really like the conclusion that each season finale has given and you can start each new season fresh without having to rewatch prior stuff just to remember what the hell is going on (aka LOST)

I didn't see this posted, but a preair of the 1st episode of the new season has leaked and is available on teh interwebs. I didn't see the episode myself, but apparently it is a gooder. So if you think you can handle waiting over a month till the second episode comes out, give this one a look. Season 4 officialy premieres late september.

Don't start at season 4. Start right from the beginning if you haven't watched it. Watch 3 episodes, feed baby. Repeat.

I think baby can last 5 episodes before a feed. Dexter is seriously the easiest series IMO just to keep watching and watching.

Damnit, I didn't want to subscribe to Movie Central. The nearly 20 bucks a month on Shaw is not good, but with Dexter coming up, and Band Of Brother sometime next year, looks like I'll have no choice eventually.

Totally leaked on purpose. Ending was just as good as any of previous 3 finales.
And John Lithgow FTW.

Movie Central (and 3 others HD movie channels in a package) is the best value on Bell IMO, can't wait for Dexter to start..awesome show.
