an 8-8 record but it should be 13-3. 5 blown saves. Man, a healthy Ryan to start the year and we'd be the best team in baseball.

Don't read too much into it, but the possibility exists that Ryan will need TJ surgery before the season is out. Worst case scenario is a return for the start of the 2009 season.

This is starting to take on a scary pattern with this team. I was hoping Royce Clayton's pep talk was going to settle them down but apparently the bullpen wasn't invited to the meeting.

Yeah, right now things are just bad for the Jays. This past week has been especially tough.

This team HAS to hit to have any hope, the pitching has been modestly ok. Losing those tight ones this week looks to have sapped this team of all confidence, let's hope they can stay alive this week.

A nice 7-3 win over the Red Sox tonight. 4 strong outs by Frasor, a triple by Wells, a 4-5 night (including a 2-Run HR) by Hill and a 2-Run HR by Thomas.
Hopefully this will continue!

I'm tellin' ya, Hill is going to end up being a poor man's Jeter! He has possibly the best eye at the plate of any Jay and he has really added some pop to his bat as well. He's going to end up being an All-Star at second base if the Jays keep him there for a few seasons.

Gibbons will make him a great 7th or 8th place hitter Solid win tonight, I believe there was a Frank Thomas sighting as well, good times.

As much as I love them, the Jays aren't going to make the playoffs. It's the same thing every year. They stay in the hunt but fall short. The Red Sox will win the division and the Jays will have to stay ahead of the Yankees, Indians, Tigers, etc to win the Wildcard which I don't see happening.
I hate the Yankees so much but Alex Rodriguez has 14 HR's and like 40 RBI through 18 games. He broke the record for most HR's in April and is the first person ever to have 14 HR's in 18 games. Bonds will break Aaron's record but it doesn't even matter. A-Rod will break it in like 5 years anyways.

Yah it is amazing...the knock on him, though is to do it at the end of the season.
I actually saw him play a handful of time with the Cannons. He was a literal superman playing with little kids...absolutely unbelievable.

So A-Rod is Mr April. Big deal. He'll still get shat on when he chokes when it matters most.
The Jays are a very good ball team. some decent depth. Thomas needs to pick it up and prove me wrong (I thought that signing sucked) and they need some consistency from the bull pen and they'll be fine. Nice game last night.

Well thus far the Jays can't complain too much about the pitching they've received from Ohka and Towers in the 4-5 spots in the rotation. If they continue to pitch like that all year it should suffice as adequate.

Hope so, Rico. Nice of them to give Doc some run support for a change. I'm smiling big because the Sports Guy from ESPN page 2 was bragging about the Sox smoking the Wankees on the weekend and called the Jays franchise a "train wreck". I'll email him and ask what it was like being hit by the train.

Jays play two solid games against the Red Sox's and win both times but Zaun hurts his hand and is placed on the 15 day DL. The Jays can't seem get a break....

I thought the Hughes kid from the Yankees had a decent debut. I'm amazed how composed he seems to be in interviews already. He may turn out to be a gem.
Good to see A.J. throw some shut out ball. Bullpen came through again.

Damn bullpen. The hitters aren't giving up, down 9-8 in the bottom of the tenth. Come on, guys!
