hardly low impact, that. Although I understand the rush.

Ok, I only read pages one and four so I'm not sure if this has been mentioned.

I've always maintained that the best feeling in the world outside of the obvious number one is the feeling of urinating after holding it for an excrutiatingly long time. But then again, maybe I'm just sick.

Got to agree with the last two... holding it for a long time (generally while driving) and then stopping and urinating for what seems like forever is an awesome feeling.

And I'm must agree with J-Pold, the feeling of waking up in the morning rolling over and putting your arm around someone then slowly drifting back into sleep is just amazing.

I think it is commonly known at least in finnish language. I'm was not sure what the english term would have been so i just translated it straight.

Returning my 30 page- paper on Boron Nitrides was fairly nice feeling. I hope i never have to hear that name again.

Another to add to the list: shaving clean after a Christmas or playoff beard. Walking outside and feeling the cold air (especially around february/march) slap you in the face...that's the one good thing about shaving my face clean.

My first thought was that tingle you get up and down your spine when you hear a song that really moves you.

But last year I had what most people here would consider normal. I have worn really thick glasses as far back as I can remember. So 30+ years of wearing glasses for every waking hour except showers and swimming. And then last year my eye doctor tells me that they have finally made decent contacts that I could leave in for a month. It was so weird, feeling a cold gust of wind blowing against my full face for the first time, or having the full effect of a fan on a warm day. Or even being able to see where the soap was in the shower. Though, even though I've had them for a year, every day I wear the contacts I feel like I need to go find my glasses... and I'll still push them up the bridge of my nose even though they are not there.

And to whomever suggested hitting a home run, I'm with ya. Actually, just hitting a ball as hard as you can with the sweet spot. I haven't played any organized ball in 5 years, but I still go to the batting cages and hammer a few.

Not replacing the "heels" though, eh? Where do you work, calf, and what exactly do you do?

You know that feeling when you are going off the first big drop of a rollercoaster and you get a funny feeling in your groin? I don't know exactly what it is. Maybe it's the boys torqueing up but it feels kind of ticklish.

Also any kind of falling whether skydiving, bungee jumping or cliff diving is a great feeling.

Ya, I love that feeling. The steeper the drop, the better.

Winner! Yeah i love that sensation because the next thing i remember is the dream i had when i wake. Which brings me to thee worst feeling ever - The alarm ringing, head hurts, eyes burn, empty bottles of beer/vodka/whiskey everywhere, the smell of smoke and the knowledge that i have to be at work in 30 mins...

Apart from sexual and drug related sensations, sport based success and adrenaline rushes are the best.

Scoring a goal in soccer (as you guys call it) in an important match just sends me buzzing. Clenched fists, shouting with all you teammates treating you like a hero, thats an awesome feeling. Then there is the flip side - missing the crucial penalty in the semi-final and everyone hates you - forever. I have had both those feelings.
It doesn't have to be me playing though, i can be watching a sport to feel that same buzz. But it is a case of extremes. You have on that knife edge in a really important game such as a final with 1 minute to go and its tied to really get that total high of success, but it comes with the downside that you can get that total feeling of failure that usually brings me to cry.

Arsenal/Flames/Bears/England/Canada winning always makes me feel great.

Those moments you get in films based around sports or war always make me feel really good too. You can imagine a film with Canada playing the US in the final, tied at 3-3 with 10 seconds left with the US 5v3. Slow motion as the Canadians break away and score in the last second. Watching films like that always make me clench my fists and think yeah we did it! even though it is a film. After I always think of real life events like that, which make me happy just reminiscing.

I lov ethe feeling of being in total bliss. Such as lying on a beach in the warm sunshine with the sounds of the waves crashing all around. I might have something important on my mind like what to have for lunch, then i open my eyes and look around at the wide open space, the lack of other people and the beauty of the scenery and i smile to myself because i just feel so damn good.

The adrenaline based feelings such a riding a rollercoaster, surfing, snowboadings, climbing, free falling are too amazing to describe but are kind of drug related. But my favourite is the really intense feeling you get when something bad happens. I know it sounds weird to say but that is when adrenaline pumps the hardest and when i come into my own as a problem solver. I like bad situations. They are never dull.

Also the feeling of completing something important that has been a huge weight on my shoulders. That relief is fantastic. I remember when i really wanted to get all the gold medals for the licences on Gran Turismo 2 and it took me about 2 weeks but when i got them i had sex with myself for about 8 hours

But my number one was about 9pm on 31st December 2001. I just got out the train station after a 2 hour tube ride after drinking much cider and lager. I could hardly walk and i had already undone all my jean buttons and my belt. I finally found an alley and let it all out. That feeling of urination was just sheer heaven after the last hour of hell on the train. Good Times.

Sorry for length (its girth that matter anyway).

you think that's great, you should experience the feeling of having laser eye surgery and waking up for the first time and being able to see the clock!! I still love that and it's been 2 years

Best feeling for me...outside of all those that have been mentioned....is when you know that there is someone special to you...gf, wife, etc, etc.

Especially when you're at a low part in your day...and you take time to reflect on that certain blessing in your life.

Great thread, BTW.

The absolute physical and mental peace when they make the placings of your national competition backwards and you know before they announce it you have won.

Having a terrible day at work and coming home feeling sorry for yourself and your pet puts his head on your shoulder and wiggles their nose and licks you. The rush of bad feelings leaving you is incredible.

Spending a large amount of money to spend Christmas with your hospitalized father and realizing how important it was when he dies Boxing Day.
