So, if we use the waiver thing, if skins drops Stillman at the start of the year, he has last dibs on Stillman when Stillman gets back if nobody else has made a waiver move?

I would think the best way to do it is this...
No waivers as of game 1 of the season. A hold for at least 2 weeks (let some games get played and pool points accumulated), and then implement it. Then the way it works is any waived player is offered from last place guy up to 1st place guy and so on.

We can't go 12 hours without a selection, this is why people should check in at least a couple of times a day and if their pick is up soon should PM their choices to someone else if they won't be around.

Yeah no doubt, I thought for sure over the weekend we could get at least a couple rounds done. Did someone PM jam?

Projected Draft Completion Date:
the first pick was made by KFF on September 5 @ 7:11 AM. It has now been over 5 days and we've completed about three rounds. At 3 rounds per 5 days, here's our projected progress:
Sept. 15th - 6 rounds completed
Sept. 20th - 9 rounds completed (and pre-season has started)
Sept. 25th - 12 rounds completed
Sept. 30th - Draft should be completed (14 rounds)
that gives us a 4 day buffer before the puck drops. that's cutting it a little close in my mind. let's pick it up people.

I think there should be a max time allotement. If after 12 hours you haven't picked you lose that pick until the end of the draft.
I know its a fun draft and its the weekend but I stopped in here before heading to the Dome purely to make sure I wasn't holding up the works.
Its just courtesy.

While we're waiting why dont we discuss how our teams are shaping up.
So far my picks in order were Kovelchuk, Hemsky, and Forsberg.
Kovelchuk has consistently put up big numbers. Hemsky I thought was good last year and will only improve. Forsberg is a little risky because he has been injury prone, however the games he plays he has good production. (75 in 62 games I thinK)
What does your team look like so far? What was your reasoning for picking the players you did? What do you think of other user's teams?
Just something to pass the time.

I'm sort of trying to pick the best player available at each stage of the draft. Getting a goalie that will have a decent season and put up some wins was pretty key for me.

so far, I have Cheechoo, Stillman (damnit!) and Selanne.
I think a full season of Thornton will really show was Cheechoo can do. I hoping for at least 100 pts. I don't want to talk about Stillman, damnit. Selanne had a great season posting 90 pts. I think the new rules suit his skill set and I see no reason why he shouldn't have another great season.

So far I have Crosby, Lecavalier and Sundin. All pretty safe picks as I think they should all do fairly well.
The tough thing about drafts like these are when to grab your goalies and d-men. It's tough to pass on forwards out there when they can still get you around 80 points instead of grabbing a goalie that might grab you only 70. I still don't have a strategy.........it's more of a gut feeling when it's my pick.

Firstly, I want to apologize for stalling things...I was away last night at a place that was supposed to have internet. At any rate...Malkin was a huge gamble, Gaborik should be a solid pick in what should be a more offensively-minded Wild, and Sullivan was a pick I already regret. Hopefully, the guy I wish I now selected in his place is still available next round.

Yeah I am thinking about the same kinds of things. I have Richards, Naslund, and Savard. Those three in theory should be good for about 270-300 points. The thing with goalies is that there are 20 of us, and there are about 20 good goalies in the NHL right now. I think for me, I am just going to select the best player available until I have to start picking defenceman. Only 2-3 defencemen get around the 70 point range and they have all been taken. There are a whole bunch of them in the 30-50 point range, so there will be plenty of selection there I think.
