Also this episode perfectly captured the pure exhaustion of fighting with full chainmail and armor. Man I could just feel the weight and not to mention having just a 5cm viewing window through the helm.
The stabs and sword strikes struggling to get through the chainmail.
It was just perfect realism.

I like this idea of Dunk being a medieval Rocky Balboa, just taking hit after hit but refusing to go down. Not always the brightest dudes but with an indomitable spirit

What an F-ing mess for the Targaryans. What's supposed to be a low key minor tournament in some backwater little town, ends in this?
That was good television.

Questions: Who is the king now, Baelor’s and Maekar’s father? Was Baelor hand of the king and is the Sept of Baelor named after him? Thanks.

Daeron II is still the king. He is the father of Baelor (first born and heir) and Maeker. Baelor was hand of the king.
The sept was not named after this Baelor, but some older ancestor who actually became king.

The king is Baelor's and Maekar's father, King Daeron.
Baelor was the crown prince and hand for his father. He was named after the king that built the Sept of Baelor.
Unfortunately Baelor looked like he would have been a good king. However it looks like he didn't inherit the traditional Targaryen physical features. But alas that is one of the themes of the Game of Thrones universe; the good and honorable usually die for their ideals.

It's also been an ongoing them that the Targaryans who have too many Targaryan genes are either totally selfish or insane. It's a bad bloodline, generally, to be rulers. Like all the great houses, it's full of entitled spoiled A-holes, but it's also full of insanity. Yet the people respect the white hair...for reasons?

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season two will still be six episode but they're at least doing things right with production; season two is already months deep into filming. Season three won't far behind either as they want to keep a consistent release schedule. I have no qualms about short episode count as long as the quality is high. There isn't nearly the amount of source material as there was for the original series and they aren't creating any filler.
As for episode five... that might be one of the best Game of Throne episodes of the entire thing. The claustrophobia, confusion, brutality of it all was perfectly captured. The fleabottom flashback arc was top quality as well. Heart broke when the girl got sliced, and a genuine sweet scene when they shared the I love you's with each other. The bullheaded stubbornness of Dunk as he follows Ser Allen was something I loved too.

I loved the exhaustion aspect of the fight too. I felt it.
HOTD could use a bit more of that, what with Daemon marching through battlefields cutting guys down without it even disrupting his perpetual aura farming.
Despite lacking speed and Aerion more than likely having the edge in skill, the sheer strength of Dunc because of his size was on display and eventually overwhelmed Aerion because of perseverance. It definitely tracked. Fighting is rarely fair because of discrepancies in stature and strength and it takes a toll on both sides when you're swinging swords while fully armored. Excellent battle.

Loved it. Too short.
Both Dunc and Egg are just tortured. Everything in their lives just goes straight to #### no matter what they do, in true GoT fashion.
Sometimes life is ####ed and it cannot be un####ed, no matter how hard you try.
The adventures of Dunc and Egg...sign me up. That was great!

That was a great episode and a solid, nice and tight first season. Well done.
But man...if my kid acted like that, the one that broke the fingers of the puppeteer? He would be getting a 'Trial by Combat' alright...
And...

Going out with "Sixteen Tons", wonderful. Dunc and Lyonel at the beginning, so good.
I need to watch it all again in a row.

Great first season. I wish it was a bit longer but I'm excited to see what future seasons bring.

Great show, great season. I'm definitely rewatching this thing in its entirety before the next season.
All of the actors knocked it out of the park in this show.
