Well, it did take a little over 3 days to get done the first round. Things really picked up the further we went, though, but a lot of that was I think people with lots of picks.

Yep, 2 or 3 GMs made allot of picks in the last couple rounds.
That expedited the draft.

thanks for adding them so quickly!
Jack Ivankovic ended up on the Islanders instead of the Rangers. Can we submit spelling corrections as well? Not trying to be pedantic, but spelling errors might impact the search function, and since we've just had a Malinski/Molinski situation ...

This draft more than any other really seem to vary wildly team to team with who they thought was a good bet.

The Panthers did no real research prior to the draft with a bunch of picks (post 1st round) and decided to throw darts all night long until the night got too long and Jiri had to step in and save the day. GM MJK invested heavily in an AI draft picker machine that failed miserably (refund pending).
This is our story...
29. Ivan Ryabkin -33
34. Jakob Ihs-Wozniak -21
41. Danil Prokhorov +1
50. Filip Ekberg -171
54. Luka Radivojevic (undrafted)
65. Zachary Morin (undrafted)
70. Alexei Medvedev +23
72. Mateo Nobert -13
74. Peyton Kettles +35
80. Viktor Klingsell -76
84. Phillippe Veilleux (undrafted)
86. Max Westergård -46
88. Stepan Hoch +10
89. Maxim Schäfer -7
90. Theodor Hallquisth +38
110. Malte Vass +34
Overall that was pretty brutal! Got lucky with some late gems thanks to Jiri and I got lucky piling on the goalie train and telling Jiri to take "whatever goalie is next in line" and him saying..."ummm is that Medvedev" followed by my intellegent response "sure, good enough". Anything prior to the goalie is me, anything post goalie is Jiri except for Max Westergård for some reason I just had to have!
Still lucky to come away with may 2nd rounders so hope for the best the work out!
Drafting is hard and time consuming. All picks available!

Minny results
2. Misa (-)
16. Carter Bear (+3)
17. Justin Carbonneau (-2)
24. Cameron Reid (+3)
31. Alex Zharovsky (-3)
44. Mason West (+15)
66. Jacob Rombach (+31)
73. Vojtech Cihar (+14)
99. Carlos Handel (177 in the NHL draft, math too hard to do)
103. Michael Svrcek (-16)
104. Jan Chovan (-80)
107. Mace O'Phillips (+27)
108. Evan Passmore (171 in the NHl draft)
112. Matus Lisy (undrafted)
Happy that West jumped from the 2nd to the 1st, and that both my 3rd rounders went in the 2nd in the NHL. Didn't have as much luck with my 4ths, but that's the nature of those.

Habs results
5th Anton Frondell ( +2)
21st Cullen Porter (-11)
32nd William Horcoff (+8)
33rd William Moore ( -18)
Happy to see Frondell go to Chicago as I think he will be a great fit there. Even happier to see Potter go to the Flames as I think he will be a great player for them.
Horcoff going in the 1st was something I expected given his size, physical ability and bloodlines. Moore slipped later into the 2nd which I’m not shocked about as he was a little all over the map. Just wish it wasn’t to the Bruins.
Overall quite happy with where the picks fell.

1-4 C Caleb Desnoyers 0
1-12 D Kashawn Aitcheson -5
1-15 C Braeden Cootes 0
1-27 D Sascha Boumedienne -1
2-42 G Jack Ivankovic -16
expected Desnoyers to go at 4, like the fit. Too bad Cootes went to the Canucks, but it is what it is. Ivankovic slid a bit, but I like the fit with Nashville.

Blackhawks Draft Recap
Blackhawks Post Draft Recap
No first rounder in this draft so had to try and find some prospects deeper in the draft.
2-38 LW Jack Murtagh (NHL 40, +2)
2-45 C Eric Nilson (NHL 45, 0)
3-64 D Max Psenicka (NHL 46, -18)
4-94 D Sean Barnhill (NHL 70, -24)
4-105 C Gustav Hillstrom (NHL 46, +9)
* Kristian Epperson (NHL 88, UFA signing)
Murtagh fell to 38 in the CPHL draft and went with him as I had targeted Lee and Zharkovsky at that spot. He went 40 to Philly so not a lot of difference between CPHL & NHL.
Traded up from 54 to 45 to get a chance at one of three guys I really liked. Nestrasil and West were the other two I had targeted so it was an easy choice for Nilson at 45 which is where he went in the NHL draft as well.
With 64 I was looking for best player available and was pleased with Psenicka was still on the board. Watched him live in the dub playoffs and he has a chance to improve dramatically as he was still adjusting to North America. Went 46 to Utah.
At 94 it was another BPA pick and choose Sean Barnhill as another big body dman who was injured most of last season but had potential. He went 70 to NYR.
Acquired pick 105 since I have ECHL roster space and selected C Gustav Hillstrom. Some reports had him potentially going 2nd round so I was ok with taking him this late. Limited offensive potential, but will hopefully play at the WJC next year and make an impression. He went 114 to New Jersey.
Overall a solid draft for the Hawks. Had a couple picks selected higher in the NHL than the CPHL, but pretty close for the three others. UFA signing of Kristian Epperson last year and hoped he would go earlier than 88th, but he contributes to the depth of the Hawks prospect base. The Hawks have a couple elite prospects, with the majority of prospects in the AHL & ECHL being 2nd and 3rd round prospects that will contribute to their NHL clubs at some point with 12 AHLers already having played in the NHL last season.
