Which shows the team lacks the high end skill required to win games in regulation or ot or shootout.

They were 5-12 in OT. If they were 6-11 they would be in the playoffs. It does not show that they "lacked the high end skill to win games". One post and in, or a post and out at the other end. That's the margin.

No need to make up narratives

They absolutely lack high eng skill that’s why they finished last in scoring. No need for you to continue making up fake narratives like you love to do.

Flames finished with 225 GF, Minny had 228

Teams that had less than 225 GF

NY Islanders 224
Boston 222
Anaheim 221
Nashville 214
San Jose 210

I don’t see where Calgary was last in scoring?? Are you meaning 5V5?

They finished 29th I guess last nights 5 pushed us over the bottom. 29th is still pathetic and speak of the lack of skill and scoring we have.

If winning 3 on 3 or SO were such important skills to have, they would include them in the playoffs. But they don't because they aren't.

By the way, scoring goals is only half of hockey. The other half is keeping the puck out of your net. Something the Flames did very well.

Keeping picks out doesn’t work when you can’t score. Can’t win 0-0.

Shootouts and 3 on 3 are part of the rules to qualify. But win more in regulation by scoring more.

Placing more value on scoring goals than keeping pucks out is folly. They are equally important. Flames are an offensively challenged team, yes, but they score timely goals, which is why they got so many games to extra time.

None of what you're saying justifies the Flames being left out of the playoffs.

It absolutely does lmao. Scoring more goals would have them in. They had a negative goal difference. Being a bottom feeder offence doesn’t win championships. You don’t need to be a stifling g team to win. The Kings are an anomaly.

Parekh on the back end, Frost to carry the puck in, and Coronato to get open and snipe. That would be a fun unit.

I never said the Flames are a championship level team. I said they're a playoff worthy team. The Habs gave up 265 goals compared to the Flames 238. Flames should be in.

Also, when he scored, my initial thought was "what the hell was he doing there?" The immediate answer was, following his goal scoring instincts. It was pretty awesome for a kid in his first NHL game to go to the net when most people would just think, ####, I am waaaay out of position. Not him. It was awesome.

Also caught this clip of Kadri, Frost, Weegar, Coronato, and Wolf watching the rookies do their solo laps from the ESPN broadcast:

And Mark Messier raving about Parekh during the 1st intermission:
