Backlund reached his stick in and that's the call I think.

In real time it looked more like a trip to me, but yeah it was a pretty gentle push to the hip/back.
I get why the ref called it though because in real time it looked more like the stick got in his feet

Rooney going face first to block shots is why, no matter the skill (oops, he scored tonight) is why teams always need players like that on any team, and that sort of commitment is rarer than you think.
