Plus, the linesman went in when he did because Dougie Hamilton pushed him in.

Fighting is dumb but it’s still part of the game.

He should have known what he was getting himself into. That being said Lomberg kept bashing his face when the guy was not in a position to defend himself and pinned to the glass. He kept bashing away and after the first few it gets uncomfortable to watch. Lomberg threw the dirty hit.

If we want to watch people punch each other we can watch UFC or Boxing.

1. It was not a dirty hit.

2. Bastion initiated the fight.

3. If you're going to initiate and not defend yourself? Thats on you.

The Devil player instigated the fight after a hit...that missed because Lomberg slipped.

Might want to watch it again, Lomberg is commited to the hit and slips himself. There is a reason the Flames came away with the PP

And I dont follow hockey fights all that often, I had no idea that Lomberg had this reputation and that he's essentially the Tasmanian Devil who just throws flurries of punches and happens to be absolutely jacked.

I thought he was just an energy guy.

Ijust watched that Lomberg fight and truly am flabbergasted that a page + of the PGT is devoted to that nothing burger of an event.

Flames played their best game of the year
Vladar got a shutout vs Markstom
Backlund 1000th game

But lets talk about a Flames player winning a fight too good that the guy twice his size instigated

It's not like Bastian never fights. He usually gets in a couple every year, and it is almost always the same result. He stands there like a dufus and gets his lunch fed to him. If he is lucky, he clutches the other player until they fall. Some players just shouldn't go looking for trouble.

Bastian actually had 27 PIMs in that game above.

The Lomberg fight last night looked pretty much the same as those fights, it's just that Lomberg connected more.

And there’s the expected quote from Lomberg

I think guys know me to not to be a dirty guy," Lomberg continued. "I'm hard (and) I'm physical. I respect my opponents, and I don't want to hurt anybody. He just came over and thought he had to stand up for his teammate and obviously respect him for doing that."

He smashed the guys face in but doesn’t want to hurt him

Ok

People suggesting Lomberg should have let up, sorry but that is a ridiculous take... if you stop to think about how the other guy is doing, you're going to be eating knuckle sandwiches. The whole thing lasts 20 or 30 seconds, you go all out without hesitation. The other guy is doing the same
