The situation with Huberdeau accounted for maybe 3 seconds - anyone who has a problem with that is an idiot.
I was almost onboard until the idiot statement. That’s a bit much.

Yes, you're right, it was.

All I’m saying is there’s a time and a place for things. Down 5-1 and you’re about to lose your fourth in a row? Maybe don’t be laughing and joking around on the bench

Without knowing what was said and the circumstances, hard to be critical IMO.

It was not a prolonged moment.

I'm sure they hate losing. But they don't have the talent to win consistently.

I don't give a heck what he's doing on the bench. My hope is that he's trying to motivate teammates.

But I give a heck about his performance on the ice, and it frankly looks like he stopped caring.

Also, stop trying to make Hubby a thing. Hubie MAYBE, but definitely not Hubby. Gross.

Yeah exactly.

Just comes off like he's not invested and unprofessional.

I wouldn't be telling jokes right after losing a client.

It's legitimate to question that type of behaviour given the most important thing over the next few years is to set a culture of determination, hard work, and hatred of losing. It's pretty much a given that he's going to lose any one on one puck battle, laughing on the bench is just the cherry on top

‘All right, guys, this team sucks. We have no talent, and we need to draft and develop some. It is therefore important for you to hate every minute of your job with the intensity of a thousand burning suns, and furthermore, you are not allowed to even look like you are enjoying one single moment of it until this is a winning team. Now go out there and be miserable for the next five years, dammit!’

Dunno, that doesn't sound like a great motivational speech to me.

Losing a client is nowhere near the same as losing a game in an 82 game season. Great teams lose 30 games.
