edit: tweet now deleted, but it looked like Mews scored a hattrick but his 3rd goal is now credited to a teammate... still 2g+1a with 20 mins left
Right now, he's listed at 2g, 2a.

Was at the game and he was dominant. Both goals were snipes. False alarm on the hat trick as it was tipped in front. He looks bigger this year than last year (this was my first game of the year as the golf season just recently ended). Same great offensive instincts though. Great skater, great vision. Still does not play on 1st PK though which I was surprised by.

Are the Flames scouting team going to be seen as one of the top groups in the league in a few seasons when their picks are looked back on?

Loading up on right shot dmen too, which are traditionally harder to find. Hunter, Mews and Parekh could all be NHL right shot dmen to compliment three (four if you assume Rasmus is around longterm) existing right shot NHL dmen.

Whats up with Zayne? Not the eye-popping stats like last year. Is he working on different things? Or just bored lol.

Seems to be heating up in recent games points wise but he's mentioned working on his overall game and not just focusing on points.

As was pointed out by another poster, there has also been some turnover in Saginaw with some of the vets moving on, meaning he has less help to work with- which also factors in to his decline in points.

He said in a recent article I read, "Calgary drafted me because of the player I am and the things I can do with the puck, but if they can't trust you or if I can't be trusted to be put on the ice then that's a problem."

I agree with this assessment of Mews- I was pumping him up the entire season leading up to the draft. He's not as dynamic as Parekh, and he likes to operate from the pocket a lot more, but he's smooth, intelligent, and effective.

I do?

His stats are perfect if he improving on his defense.

But you’ll have a 7th rounder named blampokdbd we should have picked instead.

Name some prospects I've pumped up, and let's discuss- leave out any players who were drafted in the last 4 years, as it's most likely too early to tell if I was right or not....

it's crazy how quickly RHD has become the pinnacle of our prospect pool. With Parekh and Brzustewicz getting more attention, I go "right, we have Henry Mews too! Holy ####!" every once in a while. Feels good to be that stacked at that position.

Now do the same for C please

Seeing how Conroy built the D prospect pool is what I would love to see done with Centre and is desperately needed. Unfortunately, we don’t have the same assets to sell this time. probably stating the obvious but I am a believer that we need to bulk the depth of C prospects including two blue chip prospects coming from the next couple drafts. I can’t actively cheer for a loss, especially while watching but man I am worried we are repeating 2014/15 with no Johnny in the system.

Also rocking an 8% shooting average this year. It was 6% a couple weeks ago so we should see the points comin' more frequently as that rises.
