This probably belongs in the gear grinder thread but I hate how since Covid lunch meeting are the norm. I've also blocked off a daily reoccurring meeting over lunch so I can actually step out and get some food.

I guess my little luxury is eating lunch.

My place is pretty good at supplying lunch if they have meetings over it but even then it sure makes for a long day. It did feel odd that my luxury was taking a lunch break but it really is one.

I’m not sure I’ve accepted a meeting over lunch, that isn’t at a restaurant, in like 12 years. Decline and reschedule to a normal time if you want me to attend.

Yeah. I know I said no humble brags in the OP but we can go bigger than "chair". Double meat is fine, whatever.

Time is the great luxury, and something I wasn't really focused on. This meant I have not been focused on my physical health because work took priority between 7.30 and 5.30.

So I book off lunch every day. I work through it at least twice a week, but going for a walk/bike/workout is so nice.

That's not it though. I also block off a bunch of times each week with recurring meetings just for me to get stuff done. So far nobody has noticed. What's great is I am actually more available as I can open these times up for urgent stuff. I find this lets me focus on what's important vs. getting into a bunch of meetings that are low priority.

Finally, I have also changed my calendly for most people so that i'm only free on Wednesdays. this means to book a meeting that isn't urgent / important, you're probably booking 2-3 weeks out, which means a lot more emails instead of meetings.

I have an 'urgent' meeting calendly link that gets my entire calendar that I give when necessary, but that's like 5% of the time.

If you don’t stick all the pieces together then they will be free, one will find it’s way into your path, you will inevitably step on it, and it will hurt more than you would think

But really, as a kid it was about using your imagination, now they make some pretty serious sets that don’t look that bad. Especially if you have NHL money.

I saw a picture of Sharangovich with a Titanic and an Eiffel Tower, they looked pretty impressive

Serious question but is it better without headphones? I would think headphones would be a better listening experience and can be as loud as possible.

There is a tone that your amp can only get it is a little too loud, you can also feel the sound resonate through your body. It's a magical thing.

It’s quite calming to do Lego kits for me. A coffee and a bag of Lego on a Sunday morning, or a beer and loud music when the family is out of the house. It’s also a huge family activity so it gets everyone around the table talking and working together.

I try to justify the cost as quiet time for me or family time.

Yeah, I find the lego sets I build to be really stress-reducing.

Grab a drink, put a movie (or several) on in the background, and I have hours of enjoyment.

Skechers have actually made ground with kids due to the the ugly/dad shoe trend. Kanye even tried to collab with them after Adidas dropped him. Skechers wanted nothing to do with Kanye and threw him out of the building.
