Morin looking good also. Progressing nicely from the last I saw him.

That's good to hear, his D +1 season production was not impressive.

The question I have is how did he fall to 9.

He could have easily been top 3 IMO

To me he was just a Euro prospect with poor numbers in Europe, and then he came over and didn't produce anything in the AHL either to begin with. The second half, and highlights like that are very encouraging.

I think that just goes to show how wide open the top 10-15 was this year. There was talk of Parekh and Buium both potentially going in the top 5, and they fell to 9 and 12. I still think Sennecke and Yak went too high, but theres a reasonable enough argument for each of them

Grushnikov is stellar. Love his approach. Seems so composed and methodical while being quick. Not long until he’s a mainstay on the blue line. Could see some time in the nhl at some point this year. Really excellent acquisition.

Basha and Gridin both look decent. Look like just drafted forwards. Skill is there though.

Nothing against Yak, but Parekh just seems like an insane prospect.

If I had to guess one of the leading reasons the Sens passed on Parekh is because they recently were burned by a smaller offensive dman in Brannstrom. Also fortunate that they seem to go off the board at drafts.

Honzek can really shoot the puck. Looks AHL-ready from here

But it seems like his English has improved quite a bit.

Hard to pack on weight when you're injured all season and part of the offseason.
I think the big thing will be how he shows up in September for camp, hopefully he has a big offseason training with Pospisil who is pretty strong and explosive physically.
Parekh and Buium both should have went higher.
But both Anaheim and Columbus seemed to prefer forwards due to defensive depth in the system already, and then Ottawa prioritized size.

Sure seems like there was a big run on forwards and the Sens going slightly off the board.

I think Lipinsky would benefit from another season in the WHL as an overager. Not to mention there really won't be a lot of room for him to get regular playing time on the Wranglers.
