Listening to post game scrums, eric Francis on a couple occasions brings up the “young guys” contributing with goals tonight, and clearly mentions Zary and Rooney as those young guys.

Kevin rooney is 30 years old. Played in the league for different parts of 8 years.

Francis asked Huberdeau about Rooney chipping in as part of the “young guys”. Rooney is one month older than JH.

Never chance Francis. Never change.

It does seem like a complete change in positivity of this team. Not saying Lindholm was a problem… I still saw a solid effort from him every night. It just feels like the more Conroy has leaned into having guys that want to be here, the better this team is. Every time he has traded a guy that has made it clear he doesn’t want to be here for the long term, the team seems to be taking a step in the right direction on and off the ice. With the biggest change coming from the Lindholm trade because it also brought in a guy who was frustrated with his previous coach and who brings in a fantastic attitude along with his skill.

The problem might be that the only guys that are left on the trade block (Hanifin, Tanev and Markstrom) seemingly don’t really want to leave. This trend of trading guys and the moral of the team keeps getting better might not continue if those guys are traded… but we’ll see.

With any luck, with no assets to show for it.

Hyena pack strikes again.

If they win their next game I'm starting a playoff thread.

I still can’t believe how quickly they turned the atmosphere of this team around from last year and Sutter. You gotta give it to Conroy and Huska

A continuation of his between period analysis, where the "analysis" was very little about the period just played, rather just pontificating on that same ame theme about young guys and then they shoe horned in highlights (Zary tapping in a goal that anyone with two legs could put in) and bench shots to back up his story.... basically, while a feel good story, you get the sense it was some personal foreshadowing for something more...if he again wanted to sound like the smartest guy in the press scrum by repeating that theme, guaranteed you'll see an article on Snet on that tomorrow.

Haha thanks. Obviously I’m not always gonna be in the mood to post a vid. I am human after all. But I will when I am

Hate that 47.
I like it for the fact that one of my favorite rappers (Capital STEEZ) was obsessed with the number 47

And in a way, it makes sense. The old core was rotten, they needed a cultural reset in the room.

Adding personalities like Kuzmenko and Pelletier? No wonder they're having a blast out there since coming back.
Conroy has been great at moving out vets who were clearly demanding retirement contracts and were likely going to play at a very mediocre level after getting them. Can you imagine how awful this team would have been if we had Toffoli and Lindholm locked in for seven more years at a combined 16-18 million.

The team is starting to look hungry. The old boys club is gone.

They were barely playing mediocre before

Anyone who gives Zadorov, Lindholm, or Toffoli term is going to regret it and probably pretty fast

The Flames lucked out a bit by having Lindholm pout so much. If he'd been playing at a 70ish point pace the Flames might have re-signed him. Having him playing at a 50 point pace probably made moving him a much easier sell to the owners.

not gonna lie I was on the keep Lindholm train until about mid October, although never at his reported ask. Even 8Mx8 would have been an absolute disaster though, now the Flames have made out like bandits. Kuzmenko, 1st, 2 prospects, no terrible contract...forget Win/Win this is a freaking steal for the Flames vs. the alternative.

Link to the Kuzmenko interview after the game for those that didn't see it. I love his personality, it seems infectious! Kylington and Pelletier are also big additions I'm sure for team morale.

If he didn’t have value, for what I was watching from the guy I would have said him for Kuz straight up would have been fair value
