Maybe league didn’t think anybody should represent the flames. Maybe they picked lindholm hoping he would be traded before all star game.

Fantilli or Marchenko would have been better choices, but the -5 means nothing. 4 Columbus players are in double digits in negative plus/minus, and there are another 4 who have worse marks then Jenner.

Boone Jenner carries all the excitement of room temperature skim milk. Fantilli or Marchenko would have had some hype if they were selected.

well media hype especially in TO does

NHL GMs aren't always the smartest

owners also push GMs to get the "big name"

Lindholm is near the top of those lists

Zadorov had far more hype for his name than how he was actually playing

All Star Elias Lindholm is a better tag line for trade purposes.

I approve. Hopefully he rips it up for every GM to see.

Coleman, Zary or Sharangovich are all much more deserving and I suspect they’d be more excited to go for various reasons (Zary being a rookie, Coleman may never be in this position and Sharangovich being a throw away last year)

Lindholm will do well at the ASG, he plays very well with players more skilled then him.
Not sure how this now gets chosen, if it's the league or the teams themselves.
If its the teams, a clear carrot thrown to Lindholm.

Sure but "make" is a stretch. Appointed is a better word. He's 5th or 6th at best amongst Flames fans.

Fine with it. Markstrom is probably MVP of the Flames but the Pacific has Hill, Talbot and Demko at G. Weegar is the #3 by ice time. The forwards are a tossup. They went with one of the guys with name recognition.
