Whats the point? Our highest draft pick was Sam Bennett. Even when we catch a break we can't catch a break.

Pretty ugly hit on Tanev. Right between the numbers and head first into the boards. This league is a joke sometimes. I hope Tanev is ok. Take all the time you need to get well. This team of softies ain’t going anywhere. Sure if Gilbert were out there he may have retaliated but why didn’t he next time he was on the ice with Colton? Instigator penalty? With no goons In the league anymore , I mean goons on every team of yore , they should scrap that penalty. There aren’t guys on rosters who are only punchies player safety is pretty dubious when that hit on Gudbranson and this one are unpenalized. Definition of bush league.
I’d still resign Tanev if he wants.
That game was a rough one. Had a good team on the ropes but couldn’t keep our foot on the gas and it slipped away. Good to see Zary score and Sharky score. Sharky is looking like a good trade for us with Suniev acclimating to the NCAA. And Zary is a top six forward period. Get him and elite center and that could could put up ppg stats. I’m really coming around on him. I watched him with the wranglers last year one game and he looked really confident and smooth. His play recently suggests our AHL success is finally turning into a solid development system.
That hit that Pelletier received was bad but hopefully he comes back strong by the time we are well out of it. I’d like to see what klapka can do at this level.
I’m excited to see how wolf plays vs Vegas with this dcorps in front of him.
Get rid of hanifin. That guy is never gonna be a top pairing guy without a shelter partner like Tanev. Hopefully pro scouts don’t lean this before the trade deadline.
Lindy is solid but not a top line guy either. Detroit or Columbus please pay a pretty penny.

Conversely, if they were just a little worse they could have got Draisaitl. Top 3 pick or 6th overall. 6th has worked out pretty well.

My biggest disappointment is that we let a Stuart Skinner level performance by Georgiev go to waste.
Oiler digs are the only thing that make me feel better.

Who are you talking to? Does anyone feel this way?

Flames played the 3rd trying to hold the lead, just trying to keep the puck out of the zone. Then when it got tied up, they played just to get to overtime. Coloroda played those last 8 minutes to win the game. and they did.
It is never safe to just sit back and try and hold onto the lead.

The gen-z was showing a little with that comment. If someone's mean or crosses a line, you don't just quiet-quit (?) on your responsibilities in an attempt to cancel said person. You're still beholden to your job.

I think ideally both people would reflect on last season, though I doubt either are doing that or have.
The Gen-z comment is a bit off side to me. I don't have a problem that younger folks are not accepting toxic behaviours. Ideally they are confronted directly but when there is a power imbalance (in this case the guy controls Kadri's ice time) that makes it tough.
Toffoli isn't a good comparison because he was a known Sutter guy. He knew how to play for Darryl and vice versa.

I thought Vladar was having a great game until the floodgates opened in the third. He got hung out to dry a bit. I felt sorry for him.

Its just so glaringly obvious that our top guys are not our actual top guys. Zary, Coleman, and Backlund seem to be way more engaged on a nightly basis than Huberdeau, Lindholm, and Kadri.
Trade the UFA's, this team hasnt accomplished anything with them so lets try something different.
Hopefully Tanev is not out long term.

Kadri has been everything he's supposed to have been for the last 15-20 games and I find it hard to continue to criticize his play after a brutal first 7-8 games.
Lindholm, Pooberdeaux, Mangiapane, Dube are all effectively non-factors for this team and considering they are all supposed to be shouldering the load offensively, just trying or working hard simply isn't enough.

Surprising for Lindholm, as this being a contract year, He is absolutely costing himself Millions of dollars. I think the way last year went and how this year is going, if he goes to free agency, he is going to be in a 7x7 contract term. If even that with how cash strapped teams are.
Sure the cap is going up, but every player that gets signed is going to want a large slice of that 4-5 mil.

Lindholm was never a ppg center. He's a 65 point two way center. What's costing him is timing. He had his best chance at a big contract during a year when the cap was flat and no one had the cash to give him the contract he wanted. He's also returning 29. He's not getting that 9 million x 8 year contract, and he never actually deserved it.

People were all over me for complaining at the beginning of the year, so I took their advice and have barely watched any games this season. It's strange, I wake up at total peace with myself.
Sell everything. Sell it before it can get injured and prevent the selling. *
*Everything not including Zary. Zary must be protected.

I still watch games when I can but last night was interesting.
My daughter and I decided to go play games at Rec Room, and I basically missed the entire game. Wasn't paying attention on my phone or anything.
When we got in the car I got the final score and my immediate reaction was a positive one.
Which is telling.
Not saying I'm cheering for them to lose, but I firmly believe a bad season is what this team needs. As bad as possible. But my "in the moment" reaction to seeing that score, was telling to me about how I'm thinking about this season.

My colleague is another flames fan in enemy territory. He alerted me to the score this morning, and I went "Oh, that's nice" and he looked at me like I had sprouted horns lol. I just don't care if they win, and losing will get them a better prospect at the end of this terrible season. Losing Might even get them to finally sell out, which I have been hoping for for almost a full year at this point. Sell everything! This roster is garbage as constructed, stands 0 chance of winning anything useful.

If we played with five skaters, plus Huberdeau, would we get called for ‘too many men’?
