That's good. I always think Aird is older than he is, but no question he made a very successful comeback from his injury and made a positive impact.

Glad to have Aird back for another couple seasons. Wasn't sure what Montgomery would do but I'm glad he's back as well.

So the Whitecaps also have to play their first round home match at Starlight Stadium as well.

It kinda feels like an inside job trying CSA trying to recoup money for their investment in the stadium or what?

This clip from OneSoccer (won't embed) sums up why we are so frustrated right now.
Whitecaps having to play their home leg in Langford softens the anger a bit, but Cavalry were caught completely flat footed.

Escalante linked to Valour:
https://truenorthfoot.ca/article?id=33
As first reported by Northern Tribune, the Honduran's loan with Motagua might end sooner than expected. Escalante was rumoured to be returning to the CPL for the 2024 season, but not with Cavalry.
A source has now told us that the club he's holding discussions with is Valour FC.
Cavalry and the CPL have said the "ok" for the move. Escalante will be playing in the 2nd leg of the Honduras final tomorrow against Olimpia in what is likely his last match with the club. After the final, there will be more talks with Valour to finalize the details.

Diego Gutierrez is rumoured to be signing for Cavalry from Valour. He's a fanstic player. You'll like him.

When Escalante said goodbye in June it was pretty clear his time with Cavalry was done.

Interesting that Orlando plays a MLS game 3 days after playing up here, vs MTL at home, and then the Cavs down there 3 days later. And then Messi 4 days after that.
So certianly not their A squad for the game vs us "here", or maybe the return fixture either with 4 games in 10 days.

I thought Gutierrez was overrated by Valour supporters last year. But if we have Shome, Daley, Gutierrez and potentially Trafford in centre mid, we can move Kobza back to CB full time. Good depth in that area of the pitch.

I wasn't aware that dates had been announced for the Orlando game (this thread is essentially my only source of Cavalry news) They play away on Feb 21st and then away again on the 27th.

I saw a rumour linking Aparicio to Cavalry as well, but can't find the link now. He is gunning for an MLS team (Whitecaps were mentioned in the article) but is apparently talking to a couple CPL sides as a plan B. Would it be a fit?

Curious what others think, but I’d say definitely. Cavs look best when they have a playmaking mid in the middle directing play and making moves.
I am not sure there is room for all of Aparicio, Camargo, and Henry though. Might mean Camargo is moved or sold if they got him.

I’d take Aparicio here and move Camargo for sure! But to me, this is where Cavalry has really dwarfed other clubs in the CPL; they develop players and move them to bigger and better things. If you were a player wanting that type of move, I’d think you would start to take notice of that. Maybe this is evidence of that.

Apparently Aparicio's offers would make him the highest paid player in the league. Given the current strength of our midfield I'd rather spend that money on a forward personally.
