It's really amazing and shows the fine line that confidence is, in such a tough, quick decision type situation...the simple successful execution of what play you think should work in your head, can pull out of the funk. In this case, a couple crisp passes that he visualized and actually came off as he visualized.

He's thought about and tried most of those passes plenty of times this past season or two, but they didn't connect for whatever reason.

But, as soon as they do in succession, he instantly feels better, on ice confidence gets a boost and gets back into a groove and ends the night with 2pts.

He's not out of the woods by any means, but just the little things going his way or the way he intended, means it just starts to all feel more natural again and this involves less thinking and more doing, and then that snowballs into better things.

And that's something he can take with him into games, that patience and preserverance will pay off.
Actually insane what playing with Backlund can do for players.. he does not get enough credit from back in the Backlund Frolik days to the Backlund Coleman days.

If Backlund can help Huberdeau regain his form, that will be worth much more to the team than any assets they could expect from a Backlund trade.

Huska should leave them together and they should pool and split their earnings

Hopefully they leave these lines together for a while. I thought they looked great.

I know dumping on Huberdeau is the thing to do but like a bunch of of people said he cares he didn't mail it in.

You can see his teammates love the guy as well. He seems like a good dude.

All this crap about a toxic locker room and other bs people make up, you don't see guys embracing each other like they did if they didn't like each other.

Oh and the Canucks suck.

He definitely knocked them off of their game. It was a sight to see.

Not just Dube but the team as a whole generally plays better with these jerseys on. No idea why lol

Always good to beat a fraudulent team.

Yep, cannot be understated that his 2 way game and defensive responsibility allows those on his line to flourish.

Ferland
Bennett
Johnny as a Rookie

Just about everyone who plays on his line early into their NHL career does extremely well.

It’s actually a scientific fact, certain colors are intimidating (blacks and reds I believe) and while intimidating, it also provides more confidence in the teams wearing them.

I really enjoyed this game and was really excited about the win.

But then my concern increased of this team doing exactly what it always has and then putting the franchise in a horrible spot.

This team could be a team that moves up the standings and gets a playoff spot and who knows. It could be a team that is 9th. again.

And the worst case scenario remains having Lindholm, Tanev, Hanifin, Zadorov still with this team on expiring contracts come the trade deadline and the team in the 7-9 spots. Sigh.

No points for Zary or Pospisil. Veering back towards bust territory

Bennett's rookie season he was solid on the Backlund line... then we decided to move him off and the rest is history

Was Johnny's rookie year not overwhelmingly

Gaudreau / Monahan / Hudler

As a line? I recall them being together almost the entire season.
