Doesn't help that 80% of the roster we brought this year are who's thats.

Doesn't sound like Coronato and Honzek dominated. Too bad.

It's also game 1.. but you always hope for some early signs.

I fully expect another training camp of underwhelm from young players we want to pop. At least this way I won't be disappointed.

Same is true of Vancouver's roster, it's just that they basically all played pro hockey last year, most of them as teammates in Abbotsford.

Prospects who will push for roster spots normally look a league above anyone else on the ice.

Chechelev would've stopped those.

The poor defense makes sense. There is a reason so many of the D were I drafted and on tryout. They need some more work!

I think that might have been the most lop-sided game I have ever seen at this tournament.

The sky has been falling for some time now. As a Flames fan, there is nothing even remotely interesting to look forward to.

I was hoping to see something, someone, anything to get me excited about…. Pretty meh. I hope the next game is better but not optimistic at this point.

Any thoughts I had that we had depth in the system were doused after watching last night's game. I did notice Honzek, Strongmen, Lipinski, Diotte, Ciona, Klapka, Koznetsov and Coronato. Of that group, Honzek, Ciona, Klapka, Koznetsov and Strongmen might eventually have a shot at making the Flames. It's too early to speculate on Coronato. After all the hype; very disappointing.

It’s a glorified drop in game that has higher stakes for the invites, so you can’t read into it, and most certainly not to the degree that you have above. It’s one game after a long summer, with a group these guys have never played with, all while rolling four lines equally. All that I saw was a team that was completely disjointed and as a result was unable to establish the zone time needed for any individual to showcase their skill set. Was it frustrating too watch? Most certainly, but take it for what it’s worth. I’d call it a massive win if we can avoid any significant injuries during the three games as we saw first hand with Zary how that can derail a developmental season.

I wonder how you would equate your response to the other team. Wasn't that team just a group of guys that never played together before? Trying to find much positive about the game last night is wishful thinking.

Glad to see we aren't over-reacting to a pre-pre-season game.

Good luck with filling a new arena when your marquee players are Nathan Pilling and Tyson Galloway!!

Nothing wrong with wanting to see the players of the future, actually show up. Same thing happened last season during the pre season. None of them stood out.

“The fans have the patience required for a rebuild.”

*One pre-pre-season prospect tournament game is played*

“All of these players are garbage, the coach was a terrible hire, and there is no hope for the future of this franchise.”
