But I just can't shake the feeling of "nothing matters" in these shows because we already know what happens 30 years in the future. Luke bitches out, Palpatine comes back, builds a comically large starfleet, and Rey just uber-jedis the #### out of the baddies, and now we enter the New-New-Republic era.

Yeah, they kind of paint themselves into a corner with these shows.
"Oh no Thrawn is coming back to re-unite the Empire!!! OMGZ!!!"
Nobody cares. It doesnt work. Other bad things are going to happen. Move along.
So the whole concept of Ahsoka bitching out of the Galactic War for no reason, focusing on Ezra and Thrawn means....absolutely nothing. She should have gotten her crap together and helped Luke during the War instead of knitting a new toque or whatever.
Now she's training Sabine which will also count for nothing.
Hate to break it to Ahsoka, 30 years from now nobody re-establishes the Jedi order. Luke tried and once again, the only classically trained Jedi (Ahsoka) who, ya know, actually went through the process....bitches out and doesnt help.
Ahsoka. Oh right! She has to stop Thrawn who doesnt matter and takes all of her focus. What a chump.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Iger, for the good of all mankind, should fire Kathleen Kennedy and declare the sequel movies under her leadership are now retconned. Plant some cocaine in her desk drawer or something. Give Filoni & Favreau the keys to the kingdom and watch the billions roll in.
I was going to predict that by the end of the show everyone will end up on the ring and it'll jump to the new galaxy, either by them sneaking on board or by being captured.
But I guess maybe the whole 1st season ends with the ring doing the super-jump?

Ah but how different would things be IF she doesn't stop Thrawn in whatever way they do it (sacrifice is my guess). The 1st order would have a much more organized leadership, Hux doesn't screw it all up, maybe even Snoke is irrelevant.
So while we may know what happens down the road, we don't know what she Prevented that makde this a situation easier to contain.
Bah, it doesn't matter, I just want solid star wars entertainment. They've been doing great work with their series'.

We've seen images of Thrawn, so I'm guessing the ring-jump (or whale-riding, or whatever gets them there) is the end of this episode. Then the second half of the season revolves around dealing with Thrawn, and teaming back up with Ezra.

Maybe wherever Thrawn is, spawns a whole new post-Empire story that isn't involved with the sequels? Maybe Luke did his whole new failed Jedi temple in the main galaxy and Thrawn, Ezra, Sabine and Ahsoka are off in that other universe fighting some other threat that the main galaxy doesn't even know about?
I dare to dream...

If this batch of characters (ahsoka, Sabine, Hera, ghost crew, dark jedi, mando/mandalorians, grogu, etc) wind up in the new galaxy since there's no sign of them in the sequel trilogy, then they can essentially build out a new universe that is separate, full of novel worlds and introduce Zahn book lore. And you could have the stakes ramped up in this new place that also affect the OG universe in that if our heroes fail here then the threat can spread to the other galaxy.
They did exactly what they needed to do to be able to work freely without being tied to the events of the sequels.
Since they're planning a movie in the past and a movie in the future as well as Dave's movie, i think they'll use the Acolyte and the Mandoverse one to set up the next threat after episode 9 (since the Rey movie will follow the other two)

I guess I was half right depending on if surrendered is the same as captured.
Tiny glimmer of spunky Ahsoka at the start of her fight against Baylan.
I'm trying not to blame Sabine too much for being manipulated by Baylan, but Ahsoka DID warn her. And yeah figures the mystery guy would be a throwaway.
So is that past Anakin or a force ghost? I'd guess force ghost but he can appear more real in the world between worlds?
And is that it for the Ghost? Ahsoka gets there from where she is now and Hera just goes home?

They played the Darth Vader theme in the last frame. My wife insists on subtitles and the subtitle even said [Darth Vader Theme]. So either Dave is throwing us for a loop, or there is something nefarious going on and it's not Anakin.
Although I fan girl'd seeing Hayden.

Acolyte is the one I've been the most curious about since it was announced. I hope it still happens.
Yeah me too, I was hoping it was there to bridge the gap between Plageuis the Wise and Palpatine.
But it sounds much earlier and will probably throw out some Sith Lore, which was left intentionally empty.
I mean we get all of the ancient Sith. But the rule of two starts with Bane
Bane
Zannah - kills Bane and becomes the Master
Cognus - Kills Zannah and becomes Master.
Millenium - Thrown out of the Sith Order, but survives and flees. Cognus takes on a new apprentice.
Darth Vectivus - Was somewhere between Millenium and Tennebus and was a bit of a soft Dark Lord of the Sith. He didn't want to conquer the galaxy, or gain power. He used the Force to run a mining company and then freaking died.
Empty for like a 1000 years
Tennebus
Plageuis
Palpatine.
