Didn't you get gold stars in elementary when you did a good job?

Sharangovich signed. Good job, Yegor!

With deals like this you hope you're sweating in two years trying to figure out where you'll find an extra 3 million in cap space to fit this guy in. Hopefully he finds that extra bit of consistency and has everyone calling Conroy an idiot for not doing a 8 year deal.

His teammate called him "Shar" in that video. Hockey players aren't the most creative when it comes to nicknames.

Sharan seems like the obvious and easy name.

When your name is Yegor I don't think you need a nickname, just call him Yegor.

I will never understand this forum and its constant negativity. All the negative people posting need to take a step back and ask themselves what would you have paid for this player last year. Players have bad years, especially young players. There is significant upside here.

Also for the people saying "Sharangovich isn't even worth a 2nd"

Ross Colton who is 1.5 years older, has less of a history of production, and was also an unsigned RFA just returned the 37th OV pick.

So Sharangovich is easily worth the equivalent of a 2nd IMO.

It's only going to get worse in less than 3 hours, I'd wager you should turn back now and not be here for the draft if you are easily triggered/emotional.

I see this deal as more Flames friendly than player friendly, but you could also call it market rate.
Career average is 42 points

He is clearly worth a 2nd, that would have been the compensation if one was to offer sheet him.

If they paid him as much as Toffoli is making this year, fans would have gone mental.

I like the 2 years - see how he progresses, then deal with him with more clarity

You don't understand the negativity? Let me help.
  • We finally make it to the second round of the playoffs, but are soundly booted by our arch rivals
  • We lose franchise players Monahan, Gaudreau, and Tkachuk in the summer. The last two because they don't want to sign with the Flames.
  • We suffer through a nightmare season where just about every player on the roster under performs.
  • Multiple players request trades during the end of season interviews.
  • The head coach is fired before playing a minute of his new contract extension.
  • The general manager leaves despite being offered a contract extension
  • Many of our best players have 1-year left on their contracts and apparently don't want to sign extensions with the Flames
  • The first of those players is traded for what is widely considered an underwhelming return

The contract is fine, but it isn't perfect either. Arguably it would have been better to get a 1-year deal. Regardless, getting tired of the 'gosh I don't know why people are negative' posts in every thread. Fans have a right to be negative, and frankly many of the moves so far this summer deserve a bit of critique.

But is reacting to a pretty brutal year and a half the same as over reacting to a very recent event?

I don't think anyone is questioning any fan for being disappointed, depressed or disgruntled for what's gone on since game two of the Oiler series.

It's the searching for more gloom where there is none.

You'd think your list would have people not wanting more misery, not actively searching for more!
