Opening day of the playoffs and the top Oilers article on the Athletic is literally about what the new parade route will look like and how much easier it will be for the Oilers to sign free agents after winning the cup.

Why do Oiler fans think we care what they think or even really want them to weigh in on this stuff. Don’t you have your own site you can go and talk about how good Draisaitl is on the power play. Or how dominant Mcdavid is. Elite PK guy also is what I’ve heard. Good lord.

Oil stain isn't wrong, everyone always said that about Gaudreau as well. How come nobody just levelled the little guy? It's harder than it sounds and there's a high chance of him just making you look silly.

Really hope the kings can pull this one out. I think the Oilers are way overhyped as usual with the goaltending and lack of defensive depth. It will come down to the reffing and PPs for them.

Gooning it up won't be successful. Maybe 15 years ago, but now the reffing in the playoffs is much less permissive than it used to be and special teams dominate a series. There will be no hesitancy to give the Oilers endless powerplays if the Kings act like goons, and that is just what the Oilers would like.

Surprises always happen in the playoffs, but with the way the game is refereed now, until they meet the Avs I think they're the favorites. I'm guessing we get a repeat of last year in the conference finals.

The Athletic's NHL twitter feed has been pushing these stories really hard. If you only followed that account you'd think the Oilers-Bruins cup final was starting today. I guess they've learned nothing from Tampa-Columbus in 2019.

I think the Oilers are going to take the whole western conference pretty easily, as much as I hate to admit it.

No one seems particularly strong in the western conference this year. There's a couple of sneaky good teams but with Landeskog out I don't think Colorado does it.

I'll be cheering for every team that goes against the Oilers but I think they go all the way this year.

Oilers in 5.. Hoping for a Kings in 4 though.

Didn’t see that game so just looked up the hit. Not a 5 minute, but a guy is hurt and needs to go down the tunnel for a hit from behind into the boards. What a despicable little whiner Mcdiver is even complaining about a 2 min penalty on a play where a guy is hurt. And his little ventriloquist dummy sidekick coach complains too. The little rat woodcroft was so upset it looked like spittle was coming out of his mouth.
