Yeah, he was pretty brutal for Washington against the Panthers last year, and despite Florida's mediocre play, he was a big reason why they advanced to the second round.
Not a guy I would have much confidence in going forward.

If Brad did that they would name a street after him and a bronze statue!

Have to hand it to Tampa. They know exactly when and how to turn it on to be successful in the postseason.
They're fine with average regular seasons now because they know what they have in their room.

The folks at Sportsnet must be getting nervous with both their beloved Oilers and Leafs losing their first games. Someone should probably go check on Ron MacLean.

I feel for you man. Flames fans know playoff failure as much as anyone as it can be crushing. I still want the Leafs to lose but I do feel for the Leafs fans that are real hockey fans as playoff curses are the worst.

Oh boy, walking into the office this morning and listening to the FAN590 was something else today. At 7:30, they opened up the phone lines and these fans have had it with the Leafs lol. Unlike most on CP, I like the Leafs and wouldn't mind seeing them succeed, but if them getting dropped early means the Flames bring Dubas on as the GM, I'm all for it!
I mentioned it last night during the game, but the start last night and the very clear nerves of the Toronto players was like a carbon copy of what I've seen many times with the Flames. I think that falls on the players to not be ready to play right away with calm and poise.
Marek was also on as a guest at 7 and thoroughly debunked the rumour below that has been circulating on the Twitters.

Dubas seems too smart to to work for Edwards or take a job where he has to put up with Sutter.

Dubas has been in a pretty sweet situation. Tavares left NYC to play for them and Shanahan left the NHL to work with them. Despite their playoff ineptitude they will always have deep pockets and a lineup of hockey people who want to be there, just like Gio and Brodie. It should be one of the easiest jobs in the NHL. If Dubas loses his position with the Leafs, he'll never have that again.

Too much soft skill on the Leafs. And still no goaltending of course.

For me Dubas made his bed and it's why I expect him to be fired if they bow out again in the 1st round or even 2nd round. You have a team that's one of the best regular season teams over the past few years with time ticking on Matthews tenure with the team and you trade for Matt Murray to solve your goaltending woes? Really? To make things worse he came exactly as advertised in that he's overpaid, mediocre, and often injured. The fact that he's not even healthy enough to play in the playoffs is icing on the cake as it's the type of mistake a contending window team simply can't afford. He also fell into the same trap as Treliving in that he fell in love with his guys when it's clear the core as-is isn't the right mix to get over the top. That organization needs a fresh perspective that's not attached to the Marners, Nylanders, Reilly's, etc who can come in and make a cold and collected evaluation on the players and why it's not working.

Murray orginaly had a higher cap hit than Markstrom. I wonder after this year if Toronto would be desperate enough to trade one year of Murray for 3 years of Markstrom

If Treliving were to end up as the Leafs GM it would have to be considered a possibility.
