Only the Flames could sweep every aspect of a trade, and yet that outcome (better players) is worse for their season outcome (worse draft spot, still no playoffs)

“Awesome, I’ve always wanted to play with my brother.”
“Uhhh, about that…”
I had a similar thought of Nick calling Brett saying he got traded to Calgary and shortly into the conversation Brad's number pops up on Brett's phone.

No picks traded and I feel like we got the two best players in the deal. Anyone upset about this is just being negative for the sake of it. No problem with this deal.
I feel like this is a sort of long PTO for Nick and Troy. Play well and get a contract offer for next season.

I recall there being some very vocal boosters of the Flames drafting Nick in his draft year. He showed about 5 minutes worth of his dominant PWF ability in Anaheim and just never got back to it. Not expecting much but he is better than his brother

Sutter honestly got the best out of Brett. Did anyone see him being as successful as he was even if his ceiling was always 4th liner? Hopefully he can get the most outbof Nick because his ceiling seems way higher.
Glad for Mackey, hope and believe he will carve out an nhl career. Wasn’t going to happen in a place he didn’t appear to be wanted. A little more unfinished business.
