How do they pick the all stars? Like as if Skinner is there. He’s not even the best goalie in Alberta, never mind being there for the Oilers.

Not surprised Pacific lost with that many Oilers on the team.

Yes, but you don't want to bring it up against the Oilers in this game.

Haha. Sportsnet website saying the final was 6-6. They just can’t admit that their Oiler trio sucks!!

How on earth will Ron and the panel handle this devastating loss for the 3 Oilers and the rest of their team? No win for McDrai in the skills and now they are eliminated? Good grief. Maybe convene a national investigation.

Oh this must be tough for the talking heads. They have to talk about somebody other than the Oilers because the Oilers did sweet #### all!!

They picked 1 player from each team, after which fans voted in the rest. Then some guy don't go becasue of injury, and the NHL just assigns guy to go instead.
They didn't really even bother to make sure there's enough D-men, as there are very few there.

I have to admit, Pettersson was pretty impressive at the allstar weekend.

They will redirect the conversation to how well the Oilers are playing going into February. They have a very easy schedule until mid February.

To be fair, Skinner and Thompson are both around .915 and are therefore the top 2 goalies in the division by save percentage. No one else is even over .900. Who would you have sent in Skinner's place?
Anyway since the competition is to show who cares the least about the outcome, the Pacific clearly won that one.
If they want this to be an event they need to make it matter, like it does in the MLB. Obviously not with this format, but if it determined home ice in the SCF, the players would, presumably, try. As it is they might as well have Ovechkin and Crosby playing with Ovi's son.

Now that the Oilers are all completely done for the weekend, whats the over/under on times the commentators reference them for the remaining broadcast?

Yeah really Skinner is the choice by default with all the other Pacific goalies sucking.
NHL really not being efficent yesterday or today.
Lets separate the player introductions so that we have to set up all the special intro stuff twice

That would probably be significantly more watchable.

Okay, I obviously wasn't paying attention yesterday and missed this but it's hard to think of anything more perfectly encapsulating what a failure this whole thing has been...

Commentators - "Brady has been to one more all star game than Matt"
They should probably bring up that Matt wasn't an all sstar last season when Matt was in the top 5 in league scoring.

Gaudreau and Panarin would be pretty slick. Rangers should try to figure that out
