Just indicative of how toxic CP has become.
Celebrate a dominant matinee win over one of the better teams in the league when they really needed it?
Nope.....not the CP way man
Instead complain about how the coach answered a question to a reporter he clearly has no time for about a player that played 7 minutes....cause that's what's important.
Hilarious.
Its like no one has been paying attention to how Darryl works the press since...well.....forever.

Not even close to the same thing.
Gaudreau was an established NHLer with a $40M contract already.
As a veteran NHLer I'd have no issue playing for Sutter or this organization. He values veterans.
As a 18 year old, or as the parent of an 18 year old, then id want no part of it.
There are people that are outside the Flames fan base and org right now making the same comments about Coronato looking at the handling of Phillips and Pelletier and if he would want to sign here.
But i know the Flames organizaiton will never do wrong in your eyes.

How does Sutter come off as an ass in this when it's Captain Dickhead Francis stirring the pot? The whole city is excited about Pelletier? Christ...thanks for the usual bull####, king of nuance.
Great win, ####ty post game thread.

I am saying this was nothing, players at this level has heard much worse than "ways to go"
I dont have a case, I don't need one
It wasn't the greatest 6 min performance in NHL history, he was okay and probably earned another game

He might want to go somewhere else where the coach says the same thing and nobody cares because it doesn't blow up on social media for no reason

These disrespectful, toxic comments made after a players first game are being panned almost everywhere.
But it's CP being toxic for not liking them?

The ironic part is you could use this exact same post about Sutter.
"Just indicative of how toxic Sutter has become.
Praise the team after a dominant win over one of the better teams in the league when they needed it.
Nope not the Sutter way.
Instead we have to be disrespectful to a rookie playing his first game cause thays whats important."
Hilairous how people will bend over backwards to make excuses for the coach being an #######.
You have lots of people around the NHL critizing Sutter for his comments tofay and it's justified. They were unneccessary and no real positive could come from those comments.
I've yet to see somebody say why Sutter's response was justifed that isnt just "It's Sutter being Sutter" like thats some sort of justification for a 64 year old guy who is supposed to be a leader and representative of the organization to act like that.
Personally i doubt it impacts Pelletier but I do think its a bad look to prospects and the families of prospects outside this organization. And thats where the impact is.

Panned almost everywhere? Like media twitter and Reddit?
What are we talking about here? This is the NHL.
Would it have been nice if Darryl said he had a good game? Yes. He was also very complimentary of the kid earlier in the week. Like honestly if this sets him back in any meaningful way then he wont be long for the NHL anyway.

Is there another place where any of his comments are being discussed? I think this is what is known as a "small sample size".

I think Darryl knew the reporters would ask about Pelletier and had that sarcastic response ready. We all know he doesn't praise anyone who hasn't won a Stanley Cup before. I wouldn't read too much into that.

If Pelletier feels that way from those comments then he’s a soft ass sad sack who’s never going to make it in professional sports. Luckily I highly doubt he cares.
Have none of you been in a high level, high pressure environment before? What do you think coaches say to these guys behind the scenes? You think a noncommittal answer at a press conference to some dork reporter registers at all compared to what they hear in private from the owner and GM and coach? This is serious business, yeah it’s just a game but you have millions of dollars and jobs on the line at all times, that type of situation doesn’t exactly engender endless happy talk and grab assing. Same as board rooms of companies, same as an oil rig where dollars are on the line and people can get killed. If your job is important, don’t expect smoke to get blown up your butt and people might yell and curse, part of the job. This is big business, not a grade 5 classroom lol

Virtually every reporter that covers this team says they were shocked at Darryl's comments on twitter.
It feels like a self fulfilling prophecy to claim that CP being toxic after some posters on this website don't like a toxic comment made by the coach.
