Tavares is an embarrassment. After a whistle in the third he gets slightly run into by Anderson and he flops to the ice like a soccer player with a hangnail.

Amazing compared to how fast they blew the whistle at the other side then had to reluctantly allow to be called a goal.
I don't think that Luxmore or Markovic knew the rule...but the Situation Room did and they called it. (HNIC saying the whistle blew before the puck crossed the line clearly didn't actually listen because it was about a second and a half after anyway.) Even if the ref had "intent to blow" the puck went in without any further assistance.

No. Sorry it’s just that I wanted to break thoughts up a bit more so it would be easier to read.
Not everyone is a professional writer you know. Perhaps I shouldn’t post anymore until I get some credentials.

I didn't see them as lazy in that game. They just aren't showing much high end talent. They're boring and uninspiring compared to last year.

I can definitely see them qualifying for the playoffs, but they're not showing much to make me care.

With each goal, our hopes began to fade

The final whistle sounded, and we knew
We had lost the game, and our dreams were through
But we will regroup and come back stronger
Next time we face the Leafs, we will not falter.

I'm hoping they stick with the line-up from tonight. This line-up lets us skate with/out-skate the opposition, which should be where this team's perceived depth should shine.

The team is generally (with few exceptions) playing quite well, but odd mental gaffes from veteran players are really showing up on the scoreboard. Hopefully those get ironed out with time and more stability in pairings on the back-end.

Phillips looked good.

Something bugs me about the Tanev-Weegar pairing...those two just don't feel like a good match for each other.

THIS game they (mostly) worked pretty hard. Not so much for way too many other games (start with Columbus and Montreal and go from there). Too often taking games off. Can't do that in this league.

He absolutely was the key piece on the first goal.

He's the only guy on the flames that is supposed to be a top tier player.

He wasn't anywhere near Mathews, marner, nylander who were creating a ton all night.

That's been the case every single game this year. He played on the second line last year. Maybe he's an elite player behind the alphas. Nothing wrong with that, but that isn't what the flames need or is worth the price tag.

I'm 40, I want to see the flames win a cup before I die. His contract could be the reason the next decade could be a waste. I have every right, as a fan, to be annoyed...

Thought the game was very entertaining. I rather watch them lose playing like this , than watch a game like the Arizona game which they won.

More games like that and I get the feeling they will be OK. Still some bad mistakes and lack of offense but they played quite well for stretches too.

They could still finish anywhere from 2nd to 5th in the division IMO.
