This game should be at least tied if the Flames had any finish. 7 straight here they come

What would it take for Sutter to increase the ice time of our players who can actually score? Will Kadri break if be plays more than 16 minutes a night? Honestly, it's infuriating to not be able to score and watch Sutter refuse to play the guys more who can actually score.

I agree. And lately there isn't a break to be caught either.

They should name Tanev captain tomorrow. Clearly he is the leader of this team. The minute he’s out of the lineup the whole team turns to dog ####!!

No, he has a 3 game scoring streak. 8 points in 12 games. 2 even strength goals.
On pace for 56 points. Quite the drop.

Apparently the team isn't done learning the lesson Sutter is trying to teach them...whatever lesson that is.

At least the Oilers are losing too at the moment. Down 4-1 going into the 3rd.

Boston is a very good team. No shame in losing to them on the road but jeeze if we could only bury our chances.

They don't have the cap space currently.

I don’t think the Flames should be particularly worried about Mackey being waived to recall Phillips.

GOAT!

I think this team needs a captain. Boston feed was just talking about how Bergeron was on the bench, when it was 7-0 shots for Calgary in earlier in the 2nd, telling everyone "stay calm, this is nothing, we got this."
Sutter's "no one in our room is worthy" and "we have lots of leaders" is really wearing thin with me. Nobody wants 5 different people yelling crap at everyone on the bench. Pick a guy, give him the C. This team needs a leader.

Team did pretty well without a captain last season
Vegas went to the finals without one
I don't think it really matters

Flames have lost this game. They don’t have it in them this year thus far to win games down the stretch.
Compare the two team’s Special teams, both in terms of PP offensive pressure but also PK zone protection. Calgary is weaker in both categories.
Two wide open side door misses. Not what’s needed when trying to bump a slump.

Scoring Winger
|
The Flames desperately need some help scoring somewhere. Sure you can blame the first line but I think the Flames counted on Mangiapane, Dube, and Coleman to all have more than a combined 4 goals through the first 13 games, especially since both Mang and Dube have been playing in the top 6.
Finish has been an issue with the Flames pretty consistently over the years and I think the line of Gaudreau, Lindholm and Tkachuck made up for a lot of it. If that line wasn't scoring it was noticeable. Not saying that a lot of teams can have their top line MIA and expect to win games, but I think the Flames desperately need a goal scoring type forward, specifically a right winger.

I'm also getting tired of the Flames refusing to update fans on what injuries to key players really are. When other teams lose big players they are way more transparent about it. When the Flames have a hurt player the team won't even confirm or deny if they are still alive.
