I have also noticed he drops the H on Huberdeau “Oooberdeau”. My sure my French wife would pronounce this way. Personally I always like to ask for the correct pronunciation and try and get it right. I just think that’s being respective.
I recall being on a tour Beesley did for Calgaryboy and me of the press box. He showed us his name sheet and commented how he would always go through the names with Peter Maher to make sure he ( Bees) had the correct pronunciation.
I wonder what Kadri thinks of the group at this point .. he's just playing good, simple hockey like it's another at the office meanwhile every guy left and right of him is struggling to make a pass

I don't think Kadri has been very good the past few games.

I feel like the Singh has a better idea of how “Kadri” should be pronounced than I do, so I will defer to him.
And I dig the way he says it. Feels authentic.
Well... I hate to break it to you but... its not.
You can dig it though, but Q dispelled any idea that what he's doing is authentic in any sort of Kardi's native language/background.

Singh is wrong.
Punjabi isn't Arabic. Pronouncing it the Punjabi way is weird and unnecessary.
It would be like a Korean play by play guy that speaks perfect English most of the time, suddenly giving Zadorov a Korean version of his name and just rolling with it.

Out of curiosity, are there phonetic similarities between Punjab and Arabic? I'm genuinely curious.
Edit: like from a linguistic perspective are the two languages based off of a similar foundation. Like how English, German, Spanish, Italian, French and Portugese all built off of Latin?
Or the Slavic Dialects?
Forgive me, all, for answering late and being a bore:
Punjabi is an Indo-European language. It's actually more closely related to English than it is to Arabic. It's much more closely related to the languages of Iran, and if you want to make an Iranian very very angry in a hurry, just call him an Arab.
Arabic comes from the Semitic branch of the Afroasiatic languages. It's related to Hebrew, Aramaic, Amharic, Tigrinya, and a lot of small local languages such as Maltese. These languages have a very different set of consonants, with a lot of glottals and gutturals which sometimes tend to disappear into the back of the throat. (That, so I'm told, is why Q tends to go silent in Lebanese dialect.)
Indo-European languages don't give you any useful insight into how to pronounce Semitic languages, or vice-versa.

I really like all of the flames broadcasters including Singh. Tough to beat Rick Ball. The guy is a legend who gets it right 999 out of 1000. Harnarayan is definitely trying a little too hard. People will appreciate his good work if he keeps it simple and calls the game well. It’s not an easy job, so I won’t get nit picky whether it’s right or wrong. Ideally I’d say it like the player says it to be safe, but everyone can do whatever they like if they’ve earned the role they are in. Unfortunately in his role he is going to get some praise and lots of criticism no matter what.

I actually agree I really like Singh. He seems so humble and down-to-earth too and it's cool seeing somebody clearly in love with their job.
I think his only issue is that he is filling in the shoes for a literal legend.
Rick Ball is the best PBP announcer I have ever heard, and it is wild he is not on national broadcasts. He's on par or better than people like Hughson or Cuthbert. No question.
