Kadri has made the second line as such a potent weapon for the Flames. Love it! The depth is helping our third line get opportunities/looks as well. Good to see Backlund having a nice start to a season for a change.

Totally agree but I still think if you can get 1 more top 9 forward, that 3rd line becomes way more dangerous.

I'm thinking that I am going to need a Kadri jersey at some point.

Yeah, IIRC he's pretty far right politically and got really upset a few times in off topic debates, threatening to leave the site. I remember he definitely made a show of announcing his departure, but can't remember if it was that or getting mad at the reaction to his gifs.
There was also an issue for him with someone re-posting his stuff, even though it was way older versions. He lashed out pretty badly at that once, too. I think he was always on his way out no matter what the final straw was, as he had already left for awhile once and seemed to be making weekly threats of leaving forever.

Surprising number of Kadri jerseys at the Dome already. He is a beauty.

Kadri Blasty is the only option at this point. Huby was my original choice, and still good, but Kadri has blown me away as a fan.

Yeah, getting a player to add to that 3rd line (or re-shape some of the other lines) so that we have three lines that we can put out against anyone would be pretty huge.
Looking at the bad/non-playoff teams today, the big names I see being available at the trade deadline:
Patrick Kane (pending UFA)
Bo Horvat (pending UFA)
Dylan Larkin (pending UFA - but has stated he wants to stay in DET)
Lower tier:
Pius Suter (pending UFA)
Oskar Sundqvist (pending UFA)
Adam Erne (pending UFA)
Nick Ritchie (pending UFA)
Cal Clutterbuck (1 year left at $1.75M)
This season is wild to me. This is the first year where I can truly look at the roster and only see one hole in it - and that's the lack of one top-9 forward. This team looks poised for a run (...6 games into the season).

Yzerman is going to grind Larkin down to a reasonable contract to stay in Detroit.

That's the player I've been thinking about as our 3rd line upgrade. Swede, big and physical, quick, hits a lot, plays PK and has won a cup. Basically has all the attributes you want from Ruzicka. I remember being quite impressed whenever we played St. Louis.
Will probably command a fair amount at the TDL, if Detroit even decides to trade him. I know if I was Yzerman, I would not.

How about JVR out of Philly as a target?
In a lower tier you have Nyquist out of CBJ or Zucker out of Pitt. Dadonov out of Montreal.

Also his name is fun to say and sounds like a Fruit drink.

I was not initially sold on Kadri, I was very worried that he was a player with a chip on his shoulder, wrong side of 30 and who had now accomplished everything he set out to do and as such was a risky contract.
I underestimated the chip on his shoulder. This a man who wants to watch the world burn just so long as he is the one setting it aflame.
Carry on good sir. Carry on.

2 of the 4 are made of shattered glass (Nyquist and Zucker).
Dadonov is interesting. Huge pass on JVR. Too much cap, even for TDL, and he's devolved into a strictly PP usage guy. I believe Sutter would loathe him.

JVR is out indefinitely after he has finger surgery on Friday.

Oh. So he's mentally unstable.
The best part of Michigan is leaving Michigan.

Too bad. Would be a fantastic add. Speed and a quality puck-carrier. Always impressed whenever the flames face Detroit.
Obviously, it’s unlikely he will be available but we could always hope.

Kadri + Sutter = lethal combination.
Fun to watch him play.
