2x2.5 would be decent IMO. Gotta trim some cap fat to make that happen though. He's a decent fit in the middle 6. You're just banking on Toffoli being a big benefactor to playing on the top line RW.
If a team was willing to pay him that, he would have signed already. And wouldn't be a last minute PTO. 1 year, league min should be the only thing on the table.
There are little hints, underlying numbers, fancy stats, and things I've seen that make me think that this guy will be a player under Sutter. Even if he isn't in the top-6, he's gonna be a player.
Honestly. I want him and Eakin signed for cheap. Stone maybe also. But then we either gotta make some trades or risk losing someone in waivers.
Doubt very much any of our D get claimed. Everyone else will be loaded up with players to send to the farm. They won't be claiming players that will make their starting roster.
Even if they do, they are taking a player not good enough for the Flames roster.

I don't believe this is true at all. I am emphatically denying it.

Star power attracts talent, in any sport.
They have two shiny toys in Edmonton that players salivate over the opportunity to play with. Additionally, the fringe/PTO types go there because they’re a sexy pick to win a cup because of said star power.
We can talk ourselves into having a better ‘team’ than Edmonton, but the prospects of a payday on the coattails of those two guys is a big draw for a lot of guys.
Milano will either play in the top 6 or be cut imo. I think he will be looked at trying for that other top 6 winger spot. He really would not fit on line 3 or 4 with this group.

This is bull ####.
Prove it. Show me the long list of players falling all over themselves to play in Edmonton. Show me all those free agents the Flames have missed out on for being passed over for the Oilers.

That's my view as well.
Toffolli and mangiapane are locks for top 6 wingers.
I think Coleman and Dube are locks for the 3rd line wingers.
I could see him fitting on the 3rd line, beside Backlund. Something like
Huberdeau Lindholm Toffoli
Mangiapane Kadri Coleman
Milano Backlund Dube
Lucic Rooney Lewis
Ritchie Eakin
Maybe Coleman and Dube swap but a that Kadri line would be annoying to olay against. My completely uneducated guess is that Milano and Pelletier are going to be fighting for 3 LW. Pelletier will have to outplay him to earn it.

Yeah but if has a really good camp teams will notice...the absolute minimum contract isn't a given

If his concussion issue is what kept teams away, I don't think a really good camp changes that issue. There must be something he sees or has been told that he thinks this opportunity provides him the best chance at a contract this season.

Or he sees the Flames as a SC contending team with a hole in their top 6. It is the perfect scenario for him, he gets a shot to win and play with great players on a one year deal to set up his next contract.

Yeah sorry I meant with the Flames. He sees or was told about the opportunity to grab a top 6 role, and if he can gel he has the chance at winning and a career year.

Defensive much? Where did I say that? I commented on Calgary being a nicer city as the tie breaker. I suggested that was nullified by the dynamic duo in Edmonton.
Kane just signed a really nice discount to stay in Edmonton as a recent example.
Hyman is another name that comes to mind in recent memory. Looch signed his contract there for a chance to flank McDavid. I’m not going to dig for more but can we really dispute this ‘BS’ tendency in sports?
