Unbelievable return. Need to sign Huberdeau and we crush them on this deal. I think he's better than Tkachuk. No rebuild for sure now

Huberdeau has a cap hit of 5.9 million, Weegar 3.2. We just lost Gaudreau and Tkachuk that were making 14 million combined, expected 20 million if signed

Yes lots of room now.

What's messed up is Tkachuk has an AAV deal that is the equivalent as Gaudreau, boy did Gaudreau mess up.

Wow, now that is how you maximize selling high! Unreal trade. BT hits it out of the park with this one.

Honestly thought Huberdeau was much younger, but can't deny his talent and skill. Even if he doesn't sign (which I hope he does), he can garner a huge return at the deadline. Never heard of Weegar, but I guess I should pay more attention to him now. Looks like a solid deal all around.

Just not much to be excited here. We just pushed the window out a bit but the team will be much worse than last year, and all we get to show for it is a 1st round pick 3 years from now.

Just hate this trade.

Panthers ain't gonna miss the playoff coming season, but they might in 2025

This seems like a far fetched Flames homer deal

I'd like to see the Huberdeau extension at 6-7 years. He'll be elite for fhe first half of that.

This move makes a lot of sense up front. They lost an elite playmaker and gained one here.

A line with Linholm and Mangiapane would have scoring ability but no one to make the passes.

So it could turn into like 4 1sts plus potentially.

They won’t just let them walk or else they would have just given Tkachuk the 1 year deal and walked it back
Huge win for the Flames. This is a good trade. Was not expecting that return.

Exactly. Offer him 10.5x8 tonight.

Modified ntc, 8 teams he had on it. Here is the thing, he is from Quebec where they are super passionate about hockey.
I bet he is psyched to get back to Canada playing for a hockey crazed city. I also don't think Tre pulls the trigger unless he had spoken to his agent about if he would be interested in a long term deal here. Probably the same with Weeger, he will have done his homework.

Yup, Hube at 1x5.9M is probably more valuable than Tkachuk as a rental...worst case scenario we are where we thought we were a week ago + Weegar and other assets.
