It would be in his best interest to stay on the Gudbranson side, rather than get the Hamonic treatment from Badbranson.

I mean, I get it. It's been 30+ years of disappointment with this franchise. But this year's team just feels different to me. This is an excellent hockey team that's going through a bit of a rough patch. It's a long season, and every good team goes through this at some point. Both Tampa and Colorado have gone through it recently. Flames will be fine. Better to get it out of their system now while they still have a cushion atop the Pacific.

4-2-2 in their last 8.

If they continue that pace for their last 15 games the Flames would finish with 108 points.

It's barely even a slump.

Noticed Johnny is speaking more like a leader, to match his play.

Taking after Darryl after the loss.

Media throws some negatives at him, he fires back with "it was a huge point."

Flames barely deserved a point last night but man am I ever glad there's no 3-3 OT in playoffs. Love Sutter but his choices of players in OT is frustrating.

Yup, the game was very even. I think people get caught up in the fact that the Flames didn’t play very well, and they didn’t. However, it was still an even game. Full marks for the point.

Man, I hope the Flames start to do another peak rather than trending down with 15 games left. That 3rd line is running a bit small with 3 pluggers all running 5'-11". I think the Flames need Ruzicka as their 3 line center or move Monahan up, TBH. Also,

I don't understand why Sutter started the OT with Backlund and Tanev. It's like they had almost no puck possession in that OT aside from the PK. It just seemed like Sutter was playing playoff positioning for the other teams rather than wanting the necessary points to clinch the playoffs right now. Just a frustrating past several games to watch besides the BoA.

Next 15 games - 12 of them will be playoff style hockey. Schedule is tough down this last stretch!

Actually, if you read Bingo's game report, the game wasn't particularly even. Kings had a 13-8 edge in high danger scoring chances. Expected goals were 55-45% in favour of the Kings.

They had a few more scoring chances because the flames had a few more breakdowns then normal. Flames still carried the bulk of the play. So ya, I’d say it was still a pretty evenly played game.

I'm not sure what "carrying the play" means if it's not resulting in scoring chances. I tend to judge how well a team is playing based on scoring chances, not simply skating around with the puck.

Backlund was matched against Kopitar, he's frequently matched against top line centers on opposing teams. Tanev was matched against Durzi.

They ended up being on the ice for the whole first 3.5 minutes of OT because Todd McLellan is smart enough to know that getting Kopitar off the ice meant Lindholm would be on the ice. That's not good for LA.

The penalty and time-out used by LA meant we never had our attackers out until the last 90 seconds of OT.

Coleman and Gudbranson footage at 2:10 of the Looch video. Doesn’t look like much

What I meant was moreso that they didn't play very well, most nights that's not nearly enough to get a point...perhaps "didn't deserve" was a poor choice of words.

Typically, when you hold the puck more then the opposition, you’re going to get more chances to score. That is why having the puck is important. Having the puck less then the opponent is never a recipe for success. Like I said, the flames played poorly. They had a few more breakdowns then what is typical for them. But even so, a fairly evenly played game. I certainly didn’t feel as though Markstrom had to stand on his head or anything.

Fair point, but it's 3-3 hockey for 5mins. You had 60mins to play match-ups. You have 5mins to score a f-ing goal to win the game. Put your best players out. Just my opinion.
