Heat with the best record in the AHL
Also the fewest goals against (sound familiar?) and a cool +40 in 40 games
Now +43 I guess

I watched the rogers place crowd go mental for the oilers 3rd goal.
Debrusk…always good to finish like that.
Actual fact checked score: wild 7 greasers 3

Guaranteed the Oilers will try to trade for a goalie. I hope whatever team they end up trading with makes them pay dearly. Seriously....worst 'tender tandem in the league.

Was Stuart "the next one" Skinner playing for Bakersfield tonight?

Mr. $9.25m Nurse is good at making money but bad at hockey.

The best part of the Oiler broadcast is at around 15:35 of the third. Koskinen makes a glove save, and they cut over to McDavid on the bench. He's shaking his head and has a bit of a scowl/smirk on his face.
According to Debrusk? "It's a good sign to see Connor McDavid nodding his head and smiling on the bench."
Can't say anything that would indicate the team is a tire fire of suck.

It must be a nuclear meltdown on the Oilers postgame show.

They have 716k of cap space left and that's with Kassian on long term injury. So they literally have 0 cap space to play with and nobody is going to take back Koskinen's or Smith's salary without a major payback.

It starts with the Oilers 2022 1st + Holloway so they can send Koskinen and his contract and acquire a decent goalie. Might take more because teams know they are desperate

The Habs get their 2nd straight win, 3-2 in the SO on Long Island. Mike Hammond was in net for the Habs win by making 30 saves, his 1st NHL win in nearly 5 years.
The Knights win 4-1 with their 3rd string rookie goalie in net. Logan Thompson stopped 35 shots. Eichel gets 2 points (1g, 1a) and both teams were 0/3 on the PP.
The BJs also used their 3rd string goalie in the 5-3 win over the Sabres. JF Berube made 33 saves. There were lots of shots, 36-35 for the BJs. Kukan and Gaunce each 3 points in the win.
The Panthers remain hot as they beat the Bhawks 5-2 which include 2 empty net goals. Barkov with 3 points and the Panthers were 4/4 on the PK.
The Hurricanes had 10 players get a point in the 4-3 win in reg time.
The Coyotes play the spoiler by beating the Stars 3-1. Wedgewood was in net for the Coyotes making 32 saves. Schmaltz had 3 points.
The Rangers defeated the Senators 2-1 in reg time. Panarin scored the GWG on the PP in the 2nd period. The Sens have trouble making any sort of 3rd period comeback. They are 1-20-1 this season. Their only win like that was against, yep, the Oilers!
LOL on the Oilers debacle of a loss. Boldy continues his great rookie season with 2 points in the game, Fiala had 3 points.

Yes, I am aware. But why is it good that Arizona defeated Dallas?

The standings are tight with just nine points separating second to ninth place in the western conference. I know the Flames are a division leader so the Stars do not directly affect at this present moment. The Flames are only eight points up on the Stars and five points up on the Kings who are in a wildcard spot. The Stars loss makes the Flames now have a game in hand. That is also the good news.

I get what you're saying, but I look at it a bit differently. Stars are closer to Edmonton than us, so a win would be a positive when Edmonton drops out of 3rd. At this point screwing the Oilers is more valuable than the game in hand IMO.
