7 minutes of power play...and they only have 7 shots.
But at least it's not the Canuks embarassing 1 shot on goal. I don't think I've ever seen an NHL team only get 1 shot on net in a period before.

I feel like that was a wasted period. Flames had the opportunity to take the lead, but the lack of dangerous shooters from range really hurt them again.

I think he has looked pretty good. Defensively responsible.

Yep if he actually shot once in a blue moon the other team would have to respect that option. But he either waits too long or passes it off so he's basically not a threat at all on the PP. Makes it a lot easier for the PK, they can concentrate on the other 4 players.

I dunno, I don't mind Ras, but there's just no chemistry out there sometimes, you can see they aren't skating, there's no attacking formula, or it's a stagnant one. I don't really see it as being the point man's fault that the winger is just standing still with the puck on the half boards, waiting to feed the slot, and the whole defending squad knows it....

Aside from the squandered 5 minute powerplay, the Flames are owning the Canucks.
Man the Flames need to finish though.
They're playing the right way. Now score dagnabbit

Not a great period. PP stinks, passes look off, and every time we get a grade A chance, we're missing the net. No doubt the guys are gonna get an earful from Sutter during the intermission.

Never a bad period when you don't allow any goals, but I'm just hoping they don't start to get frustrated with all of the blocked shots.

Sure but we can only complain so much when there’s 1 shots against. I know a third of the period was PP but still.

That first 10 mins of the period was the worst hockey played in the NHL this year. Had to turn it off.

Sutter wants that RHS on the point.
I'm not surprised at all that they didn't score on the major. Most teams do a lot worse on 5-minute power plays than 2's.
What matters more, at this point, is that the Canucks' D has a big hole in it for the rest of the game. The Flames have got to work hard to exploit that.

So sloppy. Each team must have had like 5+ neutral zone turnovers in the first 10.

I was waiting after that dump for the shot to count and didn't see it? I think it was the awkward Markstrom helmet save? Either way, gave them nothing.
