Say what you will about Flames management, but a while back they decided to make character an issue for players and personnel. They handled Peters well IMO, and the players they brought in - Tanev, Markstrom, Lucic, the old Sutter guys, Coleman, Muller, and Sutter himself - they are all quality individuals.
The Oilers have signed Keith of 2009 Hawks fame, traded Lucic for Neal, and now brought in Kane. And they have Draisaitl and Nurse who have teammate issues. I’d like to know what a Derek Ryan or Kris Russell think of this.

I could care less if Kane sees a nickel of that money but if the NHL says he did nothing wrong then the Sharks have to be on the hook for that buyout salary cap wise. If they are not then any team can just pay off any player with no repercussions.

Oilers gunna Oiler. He will go on a tear at the start, Oilers fans will boast all over the internet, some CPers will want Treliving fired for not being in on Kane, then it will all fall apart for the Oilers and Kane in glorious fashion. It pretty much writes itself.
