Sean Monahan with his consistent big game performance we have that going for us.

Markstrom with an .867 save percentage tonight, Koskinen had a .936, and even Jon Gillies had a .875…that feels like it sums up the night to me

Monahan was really good tonight, probably one of the best Flames. Not sure how he could’ve been seen as the problem tonight

I'm pretty hard on ole Sean but didn't think he was a problem tonight in any way. I mean no more-so than a lot of players who didn't get on the score sheet.

The officials should have been named one of the three stars.

Absolutely joke.

And I can't stand the hockey broadcasting crews, they literally ruin the game.
They talked about the Oilers and the Koskinen sob story the entire game

The. entire. game.

It was bologna!

I don't spend good money on my internet bill each month to pirate your broadcast to watch this ####, Sportsnet.

If I were koskinen I’d want an apology from the coach that threw him under the bus in front of the media. Oilers and their media puppets throw the guy under the bus repeatedly, they lose that game without him.
And of course piss-saddle is the other hero. I’d say it’s him and Corey Perry for guys in the NHL I’d pay a large sum to punch repeatedly in the face.

Well, he was 3 millimetres from netting the 3-0 goal.

Just disappointed we waited 4 days for that just to get within a Monahan post of some jersey tosses.

Complain about the interference call if you want. Draisaitl had one good chance the whole game and got his team the W. No one on our team could.
We had/have a top 6 guy who could score. Suddenly Monahan can't get off the 3rd or 4th line. He's not the same player. It's like we traded Gilmour for Leeman all over again except there was no trade, Monahan simply turned from a valuable scorer into somebody who couldn't anymore.

To be clear, this game isn't on Monahan but the lack of scoring depth because he lost his way hurts this team.

Monahan was fine, probably a half inch away from putting the game away

I genuinely could believe in him opting to not challenge just to throw adversity at his team to learn from.

Sutter is one of roughly 2 currently active coaches that would play that kind of 4D chess to make them better come playoffs if they should make it.

I'm not even sure. Can you, if its a penalty that isn't goalie interference that directly influences the shot on goal, but still occurs on the play?

Of course he was. Zero points -2 had a big game.

Yeah I don't think so...we would see it all the time. It's a judgement call anyway, ref would be like nope, incidental

They gave way too much space to Bouchard. As in, backed away, which gives him much more to shoot at, as opposed to when you're within a few feet. Being closer to the carrier also pressures them into making a decision faster.

Really did the collapsed box thing and I don't think its effective. Our generally strong penalty killing has always been built around aggressiveness and limiting time and space. There was very little of that once the Oilers were set up. Hopefully they adjust their approach in future meetings after noting how poorly that strategy worked here.

GMs always get fired after road games their team dominates and comes up short

Just watching the pvr’ed post-game. Bouchard has less personality than Mcgoldenboy. That’s really saying something.

I’m surprised he was minus two. He played well IMO but it’s true the minuses rack up when you don’t produce.

I guess, unfortunately, they were just letting them play at that point.
