Of course this team starts to win when it's too late.

You guys were saying that a couple of weeks ago but we’ll just keep that in house

Not unlike Boston or Philly fans, Habs fans are easy to want to hate but they know hockey.
They appreciate good play and celebrate good play even if it is at their expense. Evident in their ATL praise and wow for Johnny’s surgical display. Can’t say the same for the Coil. They are dead silent these days with peepee sheets and the cup already in their dreamy hands. Never wake a sleep walker - it’s way more fun to watch them walk out the front door in their Underoos wearing one rubber boot!

Stone has sped up considerably since his stint with the Heat.

This is the best hockey I've seen him play as a Flame. Keep in mind... I had advocated for the Flames trading for him at the 2017 deadline and I liked what he brought as Brodie's partner down that stretch. Since then, it's been rough.

But he's proving me wrong now.

Some of the comments from the Habs fans were hilarious.

Gotta agree with you guys I like Bieksa infinitely better as a commentator than I did as a player.

We need to sign Mangiapane for as long as we can. Good things happen every time he is on the ice.

Amazing how some players coincidentally elevate their game under a good coach

I've gotta admit, this still does pretty much nothing for me. I'm just too jaded. They've already blown so many opportunities throughout the season. This wasn't a tough a season to make it, and even with Montreal in a slump, we're still not THAT close. Still zero room for bad luck, bad games or losing the goaltending duel.

They've never won more than 6 out of 10 all season (and only managed that low bar for two days), never had a win streak go past three and all those streaks were surrounded by at least three losses to basically make them meaningless... They've only managed 4 out of five twice, and they now only have one goalie to work with.

I know I know, winning is nice and everything is possible until it's not, but at least show me a real streak first. This right here? This is still in the irrelevant non-playoff hockey territory, just random variance for the same team we've seen all year.

... But they're at least back in a spot where they could show something.

It's better than nothing.

Pull within two of the Habs with them only having a game in hand and suddenly the idea is no longer a nutty, farfetched one.

All about focus now. Stay on target!

Good thing is if the Flames do end up pulling off a miracle and making the playoffs, they'll certainly be one of the hottest teams going in. In that scenario against the Grease, I'd say our chances would be pretty good against the Grease.
If the officials put their whistles away, it would make a huge difference, too.

Now we must take the ring directly through Mordor. (Beating out Edmonton and Ottawa)

They have some good knowledgeable fans, but also the most casual fans who don't know anything and disappear when they aren't winning.

Not a chance. Way, way more pronounced when it comes to Habs fans. They rub it in your face and they’re the biggest fans when their team is winning, and when they’re not they shrug and don’t care. It’s more about “vive le Quebec libre” with them than about actual hockey. Obviously a generalization but I’ve noticed this time and time again with Habs fans from Quebec.

Spoiler!

That was a fun game to watch. Good pace. Still going to be tough to make the dance but at least it's nice to see the team playing better under Sutter.

LOL I didn't disappear!

My old Gateway w/Windows 7 finally had to go and I upgraded and again discovered that after 10 years there's an awful lot of user names and passwords I may have written down but of course had no idea where they were.

Just got this one restored. Last time I commented was before Ottawa and we were out of it. Apparently that's was a pre mature assessment.
