I said for the Flames to have a good season they would need Dube. Mangiapane. Valamaki. Andersson and hanifin to all take a step. 2 of those guys have taken positive steps. The other 3 have not consistently.
Add the fact Monahan is awful. Johnny is streaky. Backlund Bennett and Giordano look lost. Add that with tkachuk and lindholm not being good enough and we are a mediocre at best.

He can't hide in Sutter system. His defensive abilities, such as they are, are aided by the fact that he always avoids contact and gets into smart positions for when the puck goes the other way. He's a smart player but he needs to get far dirtier to keep the puck in the zone or make a play. It's like he thinks it's touch football out there when you watchi him when he has the puck.
